Nah. This wasn’t an Aizen plot-twist. The ‘twist’ for all this is more tied to Ichigo’s mom being a quincy, than anything else.
In fact, after what was said over the past few issues, its only a half-twist - and that is that his zanpaktou is a hollow. This issue was spoon fed to us thru all the recent ‘reveals’. There was no ‘zomg’ about the issue.

The only thing about Oda is that he doesn’t troll like Kubo (or Hiro Mashima) . His okama moments are healthy and innocent trolls compared to real trolling like the others. Which is a huge plus.

When Ichigo was in the dangai training, the fact that young Bach showed up to teach the FGT was huge. Now with the knowledge that Bach can take the Quincy’s power if he feels like it, means huge implications for all of Ichigo’s battle history.
Go to what Shirosaki said when he referred that he and Bach are constantly fighting inside Ichigo’s inner self when we all assumed that Zangetsu was the Zanpakuto’s avatar.
Also, Byakuya said it with his “That’s not a Bankai” line.
Now with Nimaiya forging the new sword and being a shinigami, I must assume that he will have to exclude Bach from the sword’s power by default but Ichigo is 1/4 Quincy so Bach’s power is his by default.
Thus creating a problem.

Not that it didn’t need to happen, but old man Bach helped Ichigo take care of the real problem before his invasion. lol. Aizen (with or without hoho) was probably one of the few that could fuck up his invasion plans outright. Not that Aizen would choose sides, but still.

i wonder who was controlling who…aizen claims he’s been in control of ichigo’s life from birth. But now you got nazi grand daddy who has secretly been training him to be stronger and who can snatch his quincy powers at any time. i assume even his shinigami powers since he’s the first hybrid from what i can tell.
Uryu must be so pisssed at Ichigo.
So, that means Ichigo will never know the true form of his zanpaktou since that hollow did like a parasite and entered his soul?
But then how did Bach taught Ichigo the final zanpaktou form in order to beat Aizen if he is not a zanpaktou?
That is so weird, I don’t know if it is a mistranslation or anything. It would be crazy for shinigami to use hollows like that instead of purifying them and sending them to soul society. How did they fight hollows before they decided to use hollows as as weapons?
Namiya said that the White hollows are similar to the asauchis, he also explained that the White hollows are made by the souls of shinigamis.
Not that the asauchis are made of hollows.
He also said that Old man Zangetsu is not the real zanpakuto, but that doesn’t mean that he is Juha.
Remember for what all we know he can be only a manifestation of the Quincy powers, not the real Juha.
The Hollow White is Ichigo’s true Zanpakuto spirit. The Hollow even said so in Chapter 218 that he was Zangetsu but Ichigo took him for a liar then.
How Bach teached FGT to Ichigo in the Dangai? I don’t know. He fusioned with White back then but how the mechanics worked for that technique, I don’t know but considering the piercing involved and that the mechanic was very much like Letz Still…maybe Nimaiya will explain further next week.
And the Soul Society is corrupt. They use prisoners as guinea pigs for research, they have a political hierarchy, poor classes reside there in Rukongai/Seiretei. They even allow a serial killer like Mayuri to be one of their defenders in a high command post, the same one who blows his own squad for laughs.
Just in the beginning of this arc, Mayuri was telling how he killed a certain amount of SS people to preserve their “balance”. Hikifune’s food things were mighty suspicious and Nimaiya seems very aware of Aizen’s experiments with Hollowfication with shinigami members, not to mention Kisuke’s “Quincy arrows reserves” for treatment, Shuttara’s explanation of “Aizen is evil but those Quincies are even worse than him” and the Soul King looking evil as fuck.
We’ll see but I think Ichigo will change radically his views on SS once he finishes his tour through the Royal Realm.
Speaking of, Bleach do have some strong resemblances here and there to Xenogears.

It’s funny how this very revelation makes me realize why I like Juha Bach’s facial hair.
It’s one of the most epic things about Zangetsu’s look that makes him stand-out from every other character, but Juha just so happens to be the only one who also shares that similar appeal.

Well I got, got. All this basically means is that Ichigo really has no powers. I always thought it was weird that his bankai just made him faster. His fight with Kenpachi was bludt vein or whatever its called. His bankai against Byakuya was fraudulent. His hollow and zanpaktou are his fathers’. As of this moment Ichigo is cleansed of all these soul ailments (hollow, shinigami, quincy) but the quincy which I’m guessing is going to be dealt with immediately.
The best power up for Ichigo will be truth of finally having his own powers in the zankpaktou that is being forged for him. If Ichigo is till throwing around getsuga tenshous with a hollow mask I will be disappointed. Ishin sort of gets a power up as well right with all that belongs to him coming back.
Anyway hope still remains for our hero Aizen!
