But who knows Im sure when Kubo first started the story he wanted to revisit this. Ive written tons of short stories where I had a general idea wrote something then came back to it years after.

Ichigo’s mom therefore absorbs the reiatsu of this “Hollow” and passes it to Ichigo.
And this could explain how Juha seals Bankai, he learns of this and then applies it to Shinigami.

I thought at this point we had to take the vastro lord being above captain level thing as narrative hyperbole.
The top 4 espade all match the vastro lord description, especially Stark and Barragan, and they were more powerful then some/most captains but not stronger than any captain.
Assuming that both Stark and Barragan were both Vasto Lord level along with likely Ulquiorra…it really wasn’t hyperbole. Ulquiorra was beaten by sheer luck, Starrk was beaten by the second most busted Shikai ever (next to of course, Kyokasuigetsu) and Barragan got counterpicked by Hachi.
Aw man, PLEASE don’t let this be true. I’m so sick of the “Hidden Power” angle now. I’d rather he stumbled over the Sword of Omens.

let’s also not forget that stark was fighting 4 captains, 2 of which could use hollowification. and his attacks themselves were using his soul up, he was well on his way to killing love/rose when he got stabbed from behind. i think it’s safe to say that stark could have beaten any number of captains 1 on 1. same goes for barragon who got cheesed to death, as did ulq… also i can’t help but put espada 3 as a vasto seeing as how she had a extremely human looking appearance before becoming a arrancar.
i think the main thing about that quote is that hitsu really couldn’t have known just how strong some of the other captains were could he?

My point was - if Hitsu got the info on Vasto Lordes from Iishin, then the Vaste Lorde concept is based off this hollow in partifular…which would mean this one is stronger than most of the stuff we saw in the War Arc.
Also please note when talking the top 4 and the Vasto Lorde stuff, Hitsu said 10 if I remember…NOT 3 (that’s all that came thru). We are also talking about general power levels - not who would win - power level wise - I’d actual;ly wager that they were stronger than the Captains, the Caps just had some broke shit up their sleeves. Also - as noted in the ‘battle’ that just happend, strategy is part of it as well. Aizen’s strategy was simply - my guys were stronger - and if the Captains hadn’t gotten re-enforcements, its highly probable they would have lost.
I still find it weird that if they knew how strong the V.Lordes were, why would they play it one on one? Gang the fuck up on 'em!!! Then again, I questioned Yama-ji’s leadership ability on a daily basis.

the problem with bleach is nobody dies. they spent countless chapters Hyping up aizens power and the arrancars.stark died in like 1 or 2 chapters same with aizen.but enough ranting whatever happen to grimmjow?
People do die in Bleach, it’s just extremely inconsistent. Hinamori (remember her?) gets impaled by Hitsu ice sword and is fine but apparently Unohana is going to peace out by getting impaled by Kenpachi’s sword. Let’s not even talk about Hiyori.
And it was hinted at that Grimey is helping Urahara and the others back in Hell Mexico.
When you want to talk about inconsistent deaths, talk about Gin/Hinamori/Matsumoto. The Kubo logic.
