BlazBlue Tier Rank List v1.0

>:l
… okay, I laughed.

You could just “avoid Nu’s swords”, you could just “avoid Jin’s ice car”, you could just “avoid Rachel’s frog.” You see where I’m going with this?

While I don’t really care about the curse on block thing despite it not making much sense to other people, if Arakune didn’t have the ability to re-curse you, what good would be cursing them anyway? Arakune’s shenanigans aren’t THAT potent that he could avoid you trying to beat on him. Plus, each character can dish out damaging combos, so combos being “too strong” is moot.

Also, BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES.

It is that simple. Its just fuckin’ hard.

Honestly the worst part of fighting squiggly is that he fucking guard breaks Tao in pretty much one good block string when cursed. Avoidable? Of course. Annoying? Oh hell yes :bluu:

You do realize it took around 8 years for a finalized 3s tier list to be finalized, right? You must have zero FG experience if you think they are broken. Comments like this are why I did not want to allow this thread to live past page one.

I can tell you didn’t notice the quotation marks around “avoid the curse.” Tell that to Rabbit2k7, not me.

air throw>land 5D>j6a>A bug>(jc)>j2a>b bug>j2b>j2c>BC bug>6C3 set>BC bug>j6a>a bug>(jc)>JC>JD 4955 damage. No meter.

Stop squakin’ about meter. This isn’t SF, and we don’t have EX shit to waste meter on. With the exception of a few moves on a few characters. I really wish you would stop acting like you run into these GDLK Arakune’s online all day that just wreck you with this combo. It starts with a fuggin’ air throw for fuck sakes. Tech. That. Shit. The way you talk about Arakune you make it sound like you can’t block any of his moves.

Also, Tao combo.

6c -> 236cc -> 2d~6 -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.c -> 8d~6 -> j.236bb -> j.236bbb

What’s that you ask? How much damage? 4.2k How much meter? None.

God bless that combo… if only I could remember to stop after two b’s then start again.

when’s the last time any character (selectable in the arcade) was banned from a game? ST Akuma? :wtf:

that statement doesn’t make any sense anyways because if they weren’t allowed then everyone would play them? what? (Though looking at SBO qual results, a majority of players ARE using them)

I’ve been playing marvel for 6 years, don’t assume anything. We all knew who was top, who was mid, who was bottom, and who was trash in the first 2-3 years. 3rd strike tier changes due to the fact of it’s age. And to be honest, the current tier list doesn’t apply to anyone that hasn’t been playing 3rd for 5 years+. Meaning: Hugo wouldn’t feel like a B tier character, he would feel like a trash character to someone that just started playing for a year or so.

Never said anything about Tao damage out put not being too high. We’re talking about the top 3, however.

My point exactly…

It does make sense because if they were broken then everybody would have to use them to even stand a chance against each other (online, arcades, outside of tourneys)

I know that. I’m proving a point that a 4-5k damage combo isn’t exclusive to top tier characters and that big damage combos like that don’t require shit to do. You posted it like Arakune was just tearing ass all over the place with that combo and that it was bullshit that he could do it.

I said that in response to you saying “Arakune wouldn’t be top tier.” after you quoted that. You can avoid anything any character throws at you - but it doesn’t mean they aren’t top tier.

Air Throw? Tech - your point is moot.

Tager’s Genesic Emerald Tager Buster takes off loads of health and that’s only one hit - despite the fact that he’s low tier. Plus, Ragna and Nu can get up to those heights of damage in combos as well (4k +), including Taokaka.

You can’t avoid everything(all the time), that’s my point. So your point is “moot.”

My point isn’t moot. That combo is just one of the many high damaging options he has. Not to mention, you’re not going to tech out of throws 100% of the time.

Sigh* It’s no use in talking to you guys. I have my opinion and you have yours. Done with this topic.

Oh so it took 2-3 years for everyone to figure out 3s… yet it takes less than a year for everyone to figure out a game with MUCH more depth in terms of possibilities in the gameplay? Get out of here with that nonsense. Also, don’t troll this thread… I know you walk that line a lot but don’t do it in here.

Wait are you implying that Tao’s damage output is too high then?

No he’s just trying to prove me wrong and be super awesome about doing it.

Why didn’t you kill it then? I personally think tier list ruin the sport of the game.

Or just leave it, I’d rather find it here than have to search somewhere else to find it. Guys this isn’t a SSB tier list, its more like a SF tier list. Ever changing with the metagame. Especially with this game being new to a whole new crowd. I had no trouble rolling kids with vega and Guile in sf4. I practiced, got good, and the “God tier” sagats had nothing. I think Ill do the same with Tager/Noel/Tao.

This thread is filled with lol. Damn dustloop isn’t this bad.

Arakune’s clouds need to not curse on block. Rachel is fine though I would be fine if her twirling combo is limited to 2 loops. Nu is perfectly fine in my book. Tager needs some sort of advancing super armor move/projectile reflection.

Rather it made a 1 post sticky if its really needed to be seen, but from what I’ve seen of many tier list discussion on many games, it’s nothing but a bunch of whining and crying.

Not to mention the fact that, due to tier list, people neglect the primary reason for playing the game and good with the best character just because they think it will make them gdlk in the game and not pick the character just because they actually like them. And when people actually pick someone they like ad disregard the tier list, people flame them for their choice (got ton of hatemail on SF IV for using Rose -_=).

I think the fighting game genre would be better off without a list. A Matchup breakdown is good since it helps you out but the Tier list just usually bring about chaos.

“What?! Carl’s higher than Nu now?!”

Boom goes the dynamite.

Kidding aside, a Matchup Breakdown would seem like a Tier List to me, only that it’d be a little more constructive in its objective. I could shout “Tiers are for Queers!” until I was blue in the face, but Tier Lists do serve an important purpose - showing how characters stack up with their peers. However, how people interpret a Tier List is where we find problems - claiming characters are god-like or in need to be nerfed because of their status or other shenanigans.

In any case, I’m happy with what we got. It might not be supremely balanced, but it’s a really balanced fighting game. And I can agree that we love BlazBlue.
