Exactly my point, at least it would be constructive instead of just posting the number of wins one character would average over the other in a best of 10 set up. If we are going to be doomed to the chaos of the whining and rioting, might as well make it helpful and constructive.
But i have to agree with you that BlazBlue is one of the more balanced fighters i’ve played and i do love it. :wgrin::rock:
Among some other things, I’d like to see a comprehensive Matchup Breakdown - it’d be a great help for players going against a character. But maybe that’s something for the character specific threads.
Even more character specific, I want a list of all the moves that whiff when Tao crawls - but this isn’t the time or place, hahaha.
No no no no. Rachel needs to stay the same. Arakune could MAYBE use a little balancing. Nu’s D shenanigans DEFINITELY need to be nerfed.
Rachel benefits from SUCCESSFULLY getting you into one of her many traps set up around the ring. How do you combat this? RUSH HER DOWN. Rush Rachels ass down (smartly mind you) and its game over for her.
You know what we talk about in Rachel’s topic? How to be patient. Rotfl. The bitch is top tier and we are discussing how to break pressure so we can BE top tier.
Rachel is good but you have to know how you use her. Saying she needs a nerf because she will be arguably the best in the game if Nu and Arakune are toned down is pure madness. If its not them then it’ll be someone else. Theres always going to be some characters that dominate the rest of the cast.
Yup, when people pick top tiers just to copy their “cheeze”, it turns out that they don’t develop any metagame for any other characters and things get stuck as they are. If people picked other fighters more often, you would see strategies shift because people spend more time developing other chars.
Case in point would most definitely be those who have been playing Carl, espeically DIO. From the second to bottom to 4th Place right above Taokaka? That’s insane.
I haven’'t heard much from Tager barring Mike_Z who’s pretty much a one man show right now, and I haven’t seen much Haku-Men at all. It’s probably why they’re Low Tier right now - no one’s really shown their true potential besides Mike_Z for Tager, but even then there aren’t many who are on his level from what I’ve seen (Which honestly I can’t say is a prodigious amount).
I agree with you. People tend to look at Tier lists as a suggestion rather than a statistic. People! Play who you like to play and master it! Especially when the tier list is this young. You might be the one to find out something like Dio has and shoot your character up in the rankings, just like that. But most of all, just get your skills up with the character you are most comfortable with, and shoot for the top.
If I’m not mistaken, Tier lists are there to tell you how that character is doing in tournaments, metagame, and/or matchup affinity. (And sometimes ability, like good normals or priority, but those kinds of tier lists are what cause this kind of mess)
I forgot about that point. That’s a good point, but people tend to see it as “Omg, I should learn to play the ones at the top of this list!” or, “Man, this sucks, my char sucks because its at the bottom.” Not a cool way to think.
But yea, as far as discussing and debating why those lists are decided the way they are with good and valid points are interesting to read.
Why is this even an issue? Game is pretty close to balanced, everybody has some tools to win. The game-system heavily favors rushing and hence the three characters that can zone / trap best moved to the top tier. Not a shock. It’s the old Marvel adage, the more shit a character can throw on the screen at one time, the better they tend to be.
Tier lists don’t mean anything if somebody doesn’t have a grasp on their character properly. I used to love eating Sagats alive in SFIV because soooo many people started using him once the Tier lists started coming out…yet didn’t know a single thing about him other then Tiger bullshit.
Top tier doesn’t equal instant win.
I think that BlazBlue is pretty balanced at this point. I really don’t like how many damn projectile options V13 has however. Naturally, the projectile spammers (& 90% of Akuma users from SFIV) will love her though. I also think that Hakumen’s dashing sword jab should cover more distance since he really doesn’t have any fast way of moving around outside of air dashes.
Ironically, I’m doing better in BB with Hakumen then I am while using Arakune. Shove that up yur’ tier lists.
A newbie Hakumen wrecking people who have had the game for at most a week? Tier list destroyed.
I’ve seen this written before and I don’t understand what it means. If the game-system heavily favors something, doesn’t that mean the characters that specialize in it are going to do well? If characters with projectiles and traps are very strong, then doesn’t the game-system favor projectiles and traps?
V-13 isn’t so bad if you know how to rush her properly. I think I said this before, but v-13 players tend to feel comfortable as long as you are at a mid-to-long ranged distance from them. Dash in or air dash in and close the gap as soon as possible and throw your best mix ups. Stay as close to them as possible or corner them.
But yea, vs v-13, you’ll die real quick if they can play tricky and consistantly keep you controlled in the air. And definitely fear those v-13s that take advantage of that gravity thing on the ground.
In my opinion and experience… I kind of think v-13 shouldn’t be at the top 3. Rachel, Arakune and Jin are solid and can actually control the entire screen.
My point was that when you’re talking about non-pro players fighting eachother, the tier lists don’t mean nearly as much…ESPECIALLY with a game so new. According to the tier list, I should be beating people with my Arakune more then my Hakumen…but at this point, I’m doing better with Hakumen. I was putting it into perspective.
…but I guess you’re too busy making sarcastic comments to actually think about what people are saying.
