We had it a little under a week after it came out. Socal hasn’t had it for THAT MUCH longer than we’ve had it
The SVGL card system goes something like this for first-time visitors:
[] Go to a card kiosk (caution: NOT the Token kiosk, which is for the token-throwing redemption games)
[] Insert minimum $1 (max $20) into the bill accepter.
[] After about one second, screen asks “New Card” or “Recharge Card”.
[] Press the button for “New Card”.
[] A card pops out from the card dispenser slot. This card holds however much money you deposited.
[] Kiosk asks if you want receipt (you probably don’t).
To play:
[] Slide your card through the card reader. The display shows how much money remains and how much the game costs.
[] The “(<)” and “(>)” buttons light up, representing the two theoretical coin slots. If they stay dark, slide your card again (and/or check what the card reader is saying).
[] Press either lit button (for most games, it does not matter which side you trigger).
[] Upon pressing the button, the appropriate amount is deducted from your card, and credit is deposited in the game.

(then press the game’s Start button)
When your card goes empty:
[] Go to a card kiosk
[] Deposit amount (minimum $1, maximum $20)
[] Select the button for “Recharge”
[] Slide your card through the kiosk’s card reader.
[] If your card was read properly, the kiosk will indicate so and ask if you want a receipt.
[] If not, try sliding again.

Select button for “No” to reject receipt
In essence, the card itself is “free”, but the establishment requires a minimum $1 purchase. So it is free insofar as no money is deducted from the card’s account for the cost of the card.
The card readers have optical scanners on both sides of the slot, and the card has the zebra code on both long edges, so technically it does not matter which way you hold the card as you slide it. However, nature being what it is, one particular method may work better than others, so YMMV.
The card kiosks resemble those new-fangled parking permit machines with the LCD screens and stuff, to give an idea of what kind of thing to look for inside.
The game cards can be bought/charged with a credit card (i.e. you can pay with credit card), however this requires interacting with the on-site staff (i.e. can’t use the kiosk for it).
The unused portion of the card is non-refundable. Why do you think the arcade loves this system so much?
Not you cus you don’t play anymore.
In any case, since I guess this is remaining a ranbat, is everyone okay with this point system?
1st - 4 points
2nd - 2 points
3rd - 1 point
I’m actually not to sure how long SVGL has had it I just know it’s not that long, but yeah learning curve is quite easy compared to GG.
I’m fairly certain they’ve had it a bit longer than us, since they had loke test machines and all that stuff, unless you don’t count that of course.
Loketests don’t count because those were one day events at every location, the only people who would have had a significant amount of time more than any of us would be someone who worked with aksys
Not from what I heard, but I could be wrong.
Also do any other machines use the slider card method? I may actually go down 2m, but if BB is the only machine working on the system, then it’s a no for me.
Mizuki, you are acting like SoCal is ready for Tougeki with the whole extra week and the one loctest they got.
Which is all they have on NorCal BB players.
Who cares. Go have fun.
I would go but I’m a scrub at fitan games in general, I might check it out after finals though…
Lol, I’m not saying Socal is ready for SBO in any of my sentences, I’m just saying they got the game first, so they have more experience lol.
You’re all gay. Be sure to come to the tournament tomorrow so I can scrape y’all.
But I hope you leave room for my fist, because I’m going to ram it into your stomach!!
You have just been erased.
Tomorrow!!! Yay!!!
I predict that Jin or Noel is gonna win this.
i dunno about that, i went there today and spent the entire time getting pwned by ragna and bang, and then watching ragna fight bang a lot. it seems like most people already know what to do. btw i was the scrubby taokaka player that didnt win .
im probably not going to get a chance to play blazblue again when winter vacation is over so im thinking of showing up (its at 5pm right?) and mashing some buttons. although since today was my second day playing ill probably be watching other people play most of the time instead of actually doing any mashing . i suppose there are worse ways to spend $3.
How about you leave room for my foot because it’s going to be going to where you sit son!
Arakune Tricks If I show up tomorrow. Otherwise have fun.
Just amazing. Ed, you are my hero.
lagna will get first. then everyone else will get second. then ragna will get last.
BAM.
But everyone wins because we’ll be in the presence of the sexiest man alive: LB.
Hope to see you all there. Is anyone bringing a camera to record? I would like to see footage and make a youtube account for norcal BB vids.
I can’t go…I had a bit of food/alcohol poisoning last night and there was much blood this morning! Good luck to everyone!
