BLAZBLUE: Q&A For newcomers (PLEASE POST/CHECK HERE BEFORE MAKING A THREAD!)

The scaling option is available on SDTVs. Unless 360 doesn’t have it or something.

Press C immediately after B.

Thank you I have been trying to figure that out for sometime now.

what does dj mean?

For example, in one of Rachel’s combos is

5b 6a 5b sj j.b j.a j.b j.c dj j.2c

also what does okizeme mean?

Noel

She does alot of damage and goes through alot of shit, like Slayer.

Some japanse word.

Okizeme, or oki for short, refers to the technique attacking your opponent as they are rising from a knockdown. Not to be confused with wakeup, which is refers to rising from a knockdown safely without getting hit.

edit: forget.

dj means double jump

Double jump.

I heaRD there was a patch for the ps3 version? Is that true and if it is where do I get the patch?

There is one, it updates automatically when you start up BB.

I play as Ragna. What are your options when Arakune does his one distortion attack that is unblockable and what is a double down and what is the easiest way to make it occur?

You can’t really do anything after it starts up, otherwise there’d be no point in it being unblockable. It’s hard as hell for him to land it as long as you keep moving around though, it’s mostly just effective when he has you locked down in the corner.

Just wanted to say, that I haven’t been this confused since I first saw animals mating on TV. Looking forward to learning this strange…language.

yeah :coffee:

How much better is this game’s netcode then SF4s? The only time I can really play SF4 flawless is when its later on in the night and everyone in my household isnt online. When I do try to play during the peak times (afternoon, early in the night) I get some lag problems only when Im playing SF4, every other xbox game is fine.

BBs netcode is far, far better than SF4s in terms of lag (at least it feels better to me). Not to mention it has some nice features that SF4 was missing.

What are the ranks of color for ping in network mode? Is red the worst?

Press Right Bumper to see what all the icons mean. I think it goes Green~>Gold~>Blue?~>Red?..etc., best to worst. I’m not sure how the colors were picked, seems random to me and I can never remember them. The color takes so long to appear I don’t wait for it before picking someone of the appropriate level, yet I haven’t had but one match of slight lag.

Commands are all scrolling down at the bottom of the screen in Ranked selection mode.

New to this Fast Paced Action

Welp, lemme begin by saying that I have never played any of the Guilty Gear games, nor have I played anything remotely close to them. So you can imagine how suprised I was when I first put in BlazBlue.

I’m not what you would call a very intensive or retentive person. When I pick up a fighting game, it is the simplest character to learn in each one, because that’s just how I enjoy playing. Keepin’ it simple, very simple. So much to my chagrin, I learn that combos in this game are way more advanced than anything I’ve ever tried to pull off. I was considering tradin’ it back, but it looked too nice and me and my friends were having waaayyy too much fun to do that. Long story short, I was wondering who the easiest characters to play with are? What characters have to worry about the least amount of hit strings, air combos, mix-ups, counters, etc. You get the picture, who is the simplest character?

Honestly the combos aren’t as hard as they might appear. I was pretty overwhelmed looking at the command lists for Ragna’s stuff, but a couple hours of practice later I’m landing them once in a while in matches.

Jin’s probably the most standard character, being basically a shoto, dunno how hard his combos are though, I haven’t looked at him much. Hakumen’s not too bad, but you’ve got kind of a lot of meter managment. Ragna’s dead simple really. Tager’s not too bad, depending on how comfortable you are with 360 motions. Nu has lot of pushing D.

Sorry for the newb question but where can I check my gamer card independent of a player/ranked match?

its rachel to hard for a GG/BB nobie???.

Right now i’m looking at the tier list (i know it’s 8 months in the game with totally NEW characters) but it looks like it’s ballanced as in “3s ballanced” so far, am i right or am i wrong?
