BLAZBLUE: Q&A For newcomers (PLEASE POST/CHECK HERE BEFORE MAKING A THREAD!)

From the way it looks, you hit quick match/whatever the other one is and it checks everyone else that meets your criteria. Then something happens to create a room.

I was browsing through ranked matches and then someone challenged me so I guess you just sit in quick match.

Options,Display settings, Scaling type.Pick B or C.

So I’m watching the tutorial disc that came with the game, and one of Noel’s combos starts with a counter hit. Maybe its just really fast but I can’t see the training dummy do any move that would cause Noel to get the counter.

I know that a counter is typically when your opponent tries to hit you, and you throw a hit after but it hits before his does.

Is there another aspect to counters in this game? Can your opponent be standing still and you get a counter?

You can set it in training where every hit you land is considered a counterhit :looney:

So I just got this game, and from what I see it’s only in 2ch Stereo? Not that I really care too much since it’s a fighting game, I don’t need to hear sounds from all over unlike an FPS, but I just want to confirm that the game is only in 2ch Stereo?

has anyone had trouble with the bonus bluray disc that came with the ps3 version of the game? my ps3 wont even recognize the disc. i have an almost brand new 80gb ps3, one of the newer models. the icon for the disc wont event show up in the video tab.

Does anyone know if we’ll be allowed to map Roman Cancels to a button in tournaments?

I’ve actually had the same problem, so you’re not alone. Best thing to do is contact Aksys. Some people have had their disc work after a while, but it looks like a good batch came defective -__-

haven’t had a problem with my bonus disc

I’m assuming you play pad?

If they did for Guilty Gear it is likely they will continue to and I’m sure the same applies to the reverse. I’m assume that it depends on how prominent pads feature in local tournaments.

heh I actually play stick and was just asking out of curiosity, if it is permitted I may use it, if not I don’t have a problem just hitting the three buttons manually. ^^

I think this is the arcade settings. I do the first one. It’s comfy for me.

Edit: Crap damn thing auto fixed my text T_T

hey i was just wondering like. I looked on gamestop online and it says that the limited version is no longer available online. But the normal version said ships on 7/28, at the end of july. Does that mean that since it only preorders at the end of july it wont be in stores? I’d hate to make the trip for no reason Dx
and I live in southern california if it’s an area thing…
PS i was gonna call the gamestop but they open at 12 (stupid sunday) so yeah…
I was really looking forward to trying the game out. sf4 was my first fighter lol and i’d love to see more fighting games! xD

I don’t have any idea… If you find out, post up!

I don’t know if you’re using HDMI cables or not, but I found that if I used a non-Sony brand HDMI cable that it would not play Bluray’s with my TV. I used a PS3 HDMI cable and it works fine. That’s the only thing I can think of.

Yeah I just checked it out, it appears the PS3 version is only stereo. I looked on the back of the box and there’s no Dolby or DTS logo anyway. Oh well, not really needed but would’ve been nice.

Man, do not try and change your button layout 4 days after getting the game, no matter how much you think it might be better, that is a mindfuck you do not want to deal with.

For BlazBlue frame-data (like the stuff on this site: http://s1.zetaboards.com/blazblue/pages/litchi_data/)

EXE is start-up, SD is recovery. What I want to know is if someone does a move to me with -9 SD (frame disadvantage… jin and his ice mobile…) can I punish it with a move that has 9 EXE on this list if I reversal it?

Also how do you record an opponent to do stuff in training mode?

When you’re online matchmaking, is the blue box the worst connection possible? It’s not even listed in the icon legend.

I’d like to know what the numbers in moves lists are all over these boards… I know they deffinately arent as if a joystick was the clock from 12-12. I see stuff like, 412 412 D. 612332C etc. A B C and D are obvious, BUT WHAT ARE THESE NUMBERS?! why arent QCF or “df” and stuff like that used?

If you look at your number keypad on a computer keyboard (or any keyboard) you’ll see how it works. Its meant for directions.
