So it’d be sufficient for learning the basics, but not for serious practice, would that be right?
More or less. It’s fine for getting the feel of the game.
I’m new to the Blazblue scene, but my goal is to get good at the game and compete in tournaments at a high competitive level. I wish to ask: Is the new Blazblue game going to be released for disk or dlc. I haven’t bought Continuum Shift yet and people keep telling me to buy CS or wait for the disk release of CS Extend.
I really want to get into the lab immediately, but before I do I need to know, is CS Extend going to be dlc so I can buy CS right now, or should I wait come December for the disk release of the new game/extended version?
wait until december
BBCSEX is going to be released as disc only, not dlcthis time
though if you dont mind buying cs and get the update patch for csii to start practicing then go for it, the changes between csii and csex are not that “big” compared to previous revisions, now remember you still would have to buy the dlc chars if you are interested to play with them
BBCS:EX is not coming out in December unless you are looking to import. It’s coming out whenever the PS:Vita launches over here (Amazon is currently guessing that that is in March 2012.). Honestly, if you’re serious, at this point, I’d say it’s still worth buying BB:CS for twenty bucks or whatever, to get your practice in. What I would -not- suggest is paying for any of the DLC.
what if he is interested on any of the chars then?
Then I still wouldn’t suggest waiting for BBCS:EX.
Seriously though, if the ONLY character he can find that interests him is DLC, he’s probably doing something wrong.
Taokaka is destined to always be a loop character. lol
I dunno. The only real reason that got me into BB was the fact that there was a character named Makoto that played like Makoto (and Dudley). I mean sure I like some others now since I got to look at them (Hazama, Lambda) but watching a 5’4 girl with squirrel ears, a huge tail, and questionable taste in clothing punch/parry the living shit out of everything is what keeps me in this game. I’m considering getting this game + DLC so I could play at home instead of at a friend’s place all the time.
That and I want to have as much time to play with the good Makoto before I have to get used to a Makoto thoroughly beaten by the nerf hammer. At least she’ll be normal in BB3 if ASW’s character changes are anything to go by. =/
…I’m assuming the DLC are still purchasable?
Makoto plays like Makoto? News to me. Sounds like your “only real reason” for getting into this game isn’t…really…even…very…legit.
Seriously people. I’m glad you like your characters, but if you’re playing a game for one character and not for, you know, the game, I worry for you.
Also, what do you mean by “the DLC are still purchasable”? For “old” versions of the game? For EX when it comes out? If the former, then we presume so, since it’d be stupid to stop selling it. If the latter, there’s no DLC for EX (yet). All characters are included.
I agree with this guy. If the only reason you like BB is because of Makoto then we can’t really persuade you to buy the game or not. It’s all up to you; if you really want to spend $20+8 for CS2 Makoto or $40ish for EX Makoto, go for it.
I was hoping that Mak/Valk/Plat weren’t included with the disc version of EX. It’s a casual complaint, I know, but now I feel cheated out of $24 I paid for those DLC characters.
See, this is why I am frustrated with the non-upgrade path for this. Including the three DLC characters is GREAT for people who haven’t already bought them (Which would mostly be either cheap people or newcomers to the franchise), but it sucks for people who’ve been sticking around and buying this stuff as it comes out.
I would cheerfully have given them $20 for an update including Relius, or $15 + a $7 character buy.
Not real excited if this is going to be a $40 game. Maybe it’ll be super cheap at launch at $30. Oh well. Not sweating it until there’s a price point announcement anyway. Worst case, it’s good for me if I want to buy BB for the other console.
Yeah, I was REALLY hoping that EX would be kinda like SF4AE was. I’ll hold in most of my complaints until the NA price is confirmed but I will be really upset if its like $40 for Relius and balance changes, then another $8 a pop for Kokonoe, Jubei, Saya, etc etc. I knoooow that CSEX has a lot of added stuff like story mode for DLC characters, 2 other one player modes, and some team battle online stuff but all that doesn’t matter when all I care about is the core 1v1 gameplay. It is a fighting game afterall.
Oops, so much for not complaining. o_O
LOL.
I wasn’t very clear. What I should have said was, BB looked fun already, a DLC sold it to me as something I want to invest in. Also, wanting to play as V-13 in BB:CT didn’t exactly invite friends to play you either (why they were willing to play against one broke character over another, I don’t know), so I didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I do now.
Also, you aren’t exactly selling the game to me as I’m already playing it. I’m just figuring out if I want to play more than I do now or save money. Plus, you can’t tell me that you don’t know people who want to by UMvC3 for Phoenix Wright because I know quite a few people that are going to buy it for that reason.
In any case, to each his/her own.
I think you’re missing the point a bit. Of course people are going to buy UMC3 for Phoenix Wright. He’s a new character - in fact, he’s one of quite a few. I hate to say it, but that is how you do a disc upgrade - you add a bunch of characters, so even people who bought the DLC ones get something new.
The question is whether someone who “only” likes the DLC characters should wait for the new version. The answer is “Nobody in their right mind ONLY likes the DLC characters.” They might like them BEST, but if you like the DLC characters and hate everyone else in the game, I suggest you spend your time and money elsewhere, because at the end of the day, we’ll all be happier if you go play a game you like.
Then I’ll make it clear by saying I don’t hate everyone else then lol. I never said I hated the game.
Besides, this is an anime game. People like what they like. If a werewolf, a loli, or a furry makes them want to play the game when nothing else will, so be it. ASW sure isn’t complaining. Not to hate on you or nothing but you did come off a bit harsh on the DLC thing so I felt like responding.
/opinions
I believe Yazumatto should get the game if they believe they’ll enjoy it enough, whether its for one DLC character or the game entirely. I would suggest CSEX if there were a confirmation date, it may be March or whatever, its still a while till then.
As for EU… lol that’ll probably be much later, we’re only now just getting CS2 on handheld in Nov. I’ll probably need to import CSEX myself.
Well, there’s an “earliest possible” date for EX now: February 22nd, when the Vita releases stateside.
Will EX be launching here on that date? Dunno, but it sure won’t be before that.
i know its an old post and all, but LMAO
if you find Guilty Gear dull, then i dont know what to say, seriously, that shit is just hilarious and sad at the same time
what would be the point of selling the game incomplete
the whole idea is to sell the new revision
plus how do you can feel cheated after getting BBCS2 for free??
I understand why they are doing it but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. It’s just a small complaint of mine – it’s nothing to start something over.
