It’s pretty simple, really:
BBCS:EX is not a new game. You want to know how you can tell? Because it’s not a new game in the arcades. It’s just the Vita port getting ported back.
This has pros and cons. The end.

Question:
Is Rachel worth using in CS2 or in the upcoming CSEX? I’m interested in maining her, but I need to know: is she tourney worthy? I really like her character and her defensive and keep away style interest me but the tiers list her at the bottom.
Will someone PLEASE tell me what an “anime” game is?
Rachel is absolutely NOT at the bottom of the Tier list in either CS2 (I’d place her high-mid) or CSEX (Heck if I know, but her changes don’t look very groundbreaking.) She was low (but not bottom - Tager won that prize) in CS1, but that’s old news now, so she’s totally worth learning.
Technically, it’s just what it sounds like a fighting game where the character designs look like something out of an anime. It doesn’t have to be based on one (Though games like Melty Blood and Aquapazza are), and while it has associations with airdash/high combo count fighters (And indeed, it’s rare to find a slow paced, non-airdash, low combo count anime fighter - I’m actually not aware of ANY, but I’m definitely not aware of most of them.), obviously, not all fighters with airdashes and high combo counts (looking at you, MvC) are anime fighters. It’s really just an aesthetic distinction. Some people like the look, some don’t, and some don’t care.
anime game is a term that many srkers use to describe any game that comes from japan that its not sf and marvel
usually many people use it to label games where you find air dashes, chains, a good amount of subsystems and other stuff
(dark stalkers, mvc2 and mvc3 fall on the category btw, but since they are made by cacpcom, no one calls them like that), though not every game called anime has them, like Akatsuki, Ougon, etc
what is this…I dont even.
Use her she’s great, worse thing that happened to her from CS2 to EX is 6B no longer being jump cancelable. She was Rachel (crap) tier in CS, that was pretty much two years ago now.
So I picked up Calamity Trigger this weekend on a great deal and I absolutely fell in love with the game! I love everything about it! The music the characters the gameplay the backgrounds everything is wonderful! I was surprised I had never looked at this game before this given how much Ive played SF4. Anyway I was just wondering who the dlc characters are for each game and if those games/chars are worth getting given how soon the next one is coming out. (Dec right?)
I would normally look up stuff like this on my own but I can’t find it anywhere.
Also what is the best way to get better? Practice mode or online? Ive found matches online surprisingly.
And 1 last question… Why is Bang so godlike? He is prolly the best character in anything ever!
CT has no DLC characters
CS/CS2 have Makoto, Valkenhayn, Platinum
We aren’t exactly sure when the console version of CS:Extend is coming out. It’s either sometime in December or in Q1 of 2012. So, “soon™”.
Again, CS:Extend is not going to be out over here until late February at the earliest - Aksys has said it will not release until the PS Vita does, and that’s sometime in late Feb.
To answer other questions:
Everyone will tell you that online is a “bad” way to get better. But the reality is that most people don’t have realistic opportunities to play this game offline at a level above “Yeah, some of my friends button mash on it.”. So: Training mode is good for some things (learning spacing, combos), the AI is good for some others (hitconfirms), and online will be where it’s at for matchups.
Hi guys. Ive been out of the Bb scene for quite a while. not that theres a scene where i live, i just didnt play anymore or check what was going on after relius was announced. I just read though that the release is in december and people all over japan get to test it. also that theyre selling it as a retail version not as DLC…which brings me to my question: Do they really plan to get away with balance changes and 1 lousy new character? I was thinking theyd at least announce a few more, but seeing the release date, that doesnt seem to be the case. Is there any insight on that that i missed? Its not on DL anywhere to be seen and i dont really wanna ask there, my experience with those guys is pretty bad…
Short answer: Yes, they think they can get away with it, and people seem inclined to let them.
Longer answer: It’s not really a new game. It’s just that they’ve decided to port the Vita version of the game “back” to traditional consoles. Balance stuff+new stories+a couple of game modes+1 new character is a perfectly normal, even GOOD release for a handheld version of the game, and it makes a perfectly fine update for Arcades. I personally think this leaves those of us who play exclusively on consoles in a somewhat unpleasant situation, but I seem to be in the minority.
But it looks like their balance changes totally nerfed Tsubaki for no readily good identifiable reason, so I don’t really care if I miss it.
hm sucks then. Even though CS2 wasnt even very unbalanced.
maybe if they sell it very cheap or give me a free vita with it…
Also i thought theyd at least get kokonoe in the game.
Are there any characters that a newbie should gravitate to or avoid? After dicking around in practice/challenge mode a bit, all the characters are weird and have 9-page-long typing practice combos. o_O Kinda gravitating toward Arakune at first glance…
Heh. Well, on my short list of characters I would suggest a newbie avoid, I’d have picked Arakune. Not because he’s bad, or because he’s complicated (He’s not really either one), but because he’s not going to do a very good job of teaching you how to play the game. Arakune plays by a fairly radically different set of rules than the rest of the cast - quite literally, he basically doesn’t CARE about doing damage until he achieves curse state (Though obviously he’ll do a little.). He also has…er…pretty bad normals, overall, and is probably the most gimmicky character in the game.
Depending on your background, I’d suggest getting accustomed to the game engine a little bit by playing around with one of the more “normal” characters - Ragna, Jin, Bang, Hakumen, maybe Platinum or Makoto (or Tager, but honestly, he’s going to skew your play a bit if he’s the first character you pick up. Xbox live is strewn with the corpses of people who picked Tager off the bat, blew up a bunch of newbies, and never learned to play.). OTOH, if you’re a veteran and looking for something different (particularly if you have background in an airdash fighter - even Marvel) then just grab whoever you want and go to town. I’d suggest going through the tutorial segments for both the game engine and the various characters - it’s kindof a wall of text, but it’ll teach you both the game mechanics (and there are a bunch of 'em), and the general gist of how each character is supposed to work. From there it’ll be much easier to make an informed decision on who you want to play.
I’d have to go with Jin as a starter, he’s probably going to be the most familiar off the bat for anyone who has played any previous 2D FGs casually. I started with Ragna myself but kinda never really moved on, even now after two years I barely know how to work anyone else outside of vague knowledge of Tsubaki, lol.
I am playing Arakune as well. Is there any combos or normals that are especially good? Does he have some combos that a newbie would be able to pull off. What is the best way to get the opponent in curse state(I know in the corner I am doing 4D, which greatly helps).
And yeah, any advice on Arakune would be greatly appreciated
I’m going to be getting BlazBlue in about a day or so. I want to know if there’s a character that you all would recommend to me to start out with, to get a feel for the game?
Ragna is a fairly good character to start out with. He is sort of made to be a good introduction.
But remember that in BlazBlue every character is unique, just because Ragna is a good char to start out with doesn’t mean any other character fights like him.
So, score attack is probably the most pathetic way of getting people to buy DLC, and I’m positive that’s the only reason why it’s that hard, as a game normally shouldn’t have to force you to use 1 attack as your only option of winning. /Opinion
I’m playing Noel and I can get to UL Hakumen before I give up. I’m using the 2p cheat as well, but I just can’t get past him. Can anyone give me some tips? Youtube won’t help me…
