Is it just me or are even the lowest ranked people consistently beasting online? I mean, I’m new to the game (coming from SF) and it has taken some adjusting.
But whereas with P4U (with or without auto-combo) fundamentals were generally enough for me to achieve my fair share of wins, with BB I am just getting tore up all over the place online (playing in Japan)… even in so-called “beginner” lobbies…
Could be, it’s just that the number of low ranked players is still so large it’s really been hard to find people (other beginners, like me) at the same level to nut stuff out. There are times when I’m playing a 入門 ranked player and things are so pathetic that even getting in a hit to prevent their perfect (let alone taking a round) feels like a victory.
Still grinding away in training etc, not expecting to be a day 1 hero or anything, but so far online is a rough road…
Oh yeah, I’m glad to have so many “teachers” it’s just so much of the time they’re so advanced so that I hardly know what I’m doing wrong. There are a ton of great players, that’s for sure, lobbies are far more often than not friendly, lots of (local equivalent) “thank yous” and “ggs” to be had.
I’d be happy to play you, if you’re online and depending on where you are and the speed doesn’t suck. I’m pretty terrible but keen to get better.
Nonsense. If anything, rank in CP is more reflective of skill than it has ever been.
The ‘problem’ here is that everyone is ‘new’ to the game even if they’re not ACTUALLY new to the game. If you’ve been playing in Japan arcades for the past year, but just bought CP for the PS3 yesterday, you look like a ‘beginner’ when in fact, after you’ve been playing for a while, you will have quite a high rank.
So maybe it is early for rank to mean much, but it will.
I pretty much agree with this. I am new to the BB franchise, not just CP. However, the game has been out a long time in arcades and there are the earlier versions people have been rocking etc. Everyone is a beginner in the literal sense of having just bought the game, but the discrepancy ability between everyone in the entire universe and me is just as wide as said universe.
Yeah, apparently there were some lag spike issues, but since it was still the 2nd best online I’ve seen aside from TTT2 when “bad”, it should be awesome all fixed and that.
Well I certainly wasn’t trying to imply that the system they’re using is a poor indication of skill, only that you can’t measure somebody by their rank when most people haven’t touched ranked play except to get the exclusive icons. I mean, there are plenty of great BB players who haven’t played a ranked game in years.
Thanks, though between time difference (I’m assuming you’re in north america) and my work schedule we may never cross paths. For the record, I’m: bayouhorns
I don’t know how it took Twitch this long to find out. He was becoming more and more conspicuous as time went on and he finally got too comfortable. Can’t really sympathize with him this time 'round. He def gets props for lasting as long as he did, though.
