BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma EXTEND announced!

Kokonoe has insanely good oki (stuff like putting a fireball over you and teleporting behind you, using it to go into safe overheads, or just force you to block her ice chip), and can get really good damage IF she gets the proper starter. So far my early looks show that off of a 5B or something her damage is around 2.4k unless she’s in the corner, but she can easily get a ton off of throws or 2C. She also has setups where she’ll do a legit combo into a spot where you’re forced to block her Ice again. Setups that do enough damage to nearly kill tao or carl.

I’ve heard rumblings that she has legitimate unblockable setups too.

The problem with that ice spray setup is that you can barrier the entire thing for about 33% of your gauge, and get out in time to punish, or at least begin pressure. You can also use block switching to IB the final hit before you get pushed out if you practice the timing.

She seems like a really good character, though. Her pillar is annoying enough for basic oki, and once people learn how to set up her fireball and unblockable super, she’s going to be a nightmare. Makes me wonder why I’m putting so much work into a character like Izayoi, haha. But I guess you can’t choose who you love.

False.

You can burst :3

Well, that’s more than you can say for those Hakumen setups at least.

Uh, you can actually use a REAL DP too. Jayoku Houtenjin has 6 frames of invulnerability and 7 frames of startup. Honest to goodness proper DPs have at least one invulnerable active frame.

Doesn’t mean Kokonoe isn’t unbalanced and stupid though. :stuck_out_tongue: Rumor has it her teleport is frame 1 invulnerable. WTF?

It is, but it also has ~10 frames of CH state at the end, so you need to either use it wisely or have a graviton on the other side of the screen.

Well she still has weaknesses. No meterless reversals, almost no + on block normals, slow overheads (yeah she has instant overheads to make up for this but she has to set these up to get anything off of them), low midscreen damage unless she gets a good starter (like an overhead, anti air, or a throw), mediocre at best pokes, etc. She’s not broken, I doubt she’s even best or even top 3.

Kokonoe’s good. That’s about it. People especially need to hit up training mode and learn to punish her ice.

Please don’t cry so soon into the game’s release! This is all manageable stuff to deal with.

The knee jerk reaction to Kokonoe is knocking my teeth out. People need to calm the fuck down. I’ve heard people say she needs a hotfix, she’s OP and “Has literally no weaknesses” in less than 12 hours.

The Anime community is fucking up hard with Kokonoe right now.

I can still punch her in the whore mouth with BHS so I don’t give a fuck. Adapt and fuck her up.

I can see it now…Chrono Phantasma gets an arcade update with the three new characters from the console release, plus 1-2 new characters. Some minor balance adjustments, new stages, voila! Chrono Phantasma II.

Oh, and the arcade mook just came in the mail today
(I had actually been trying to get it since it was released, but for some reason it was always “out of stock” or “out of print” wherever JP import site I looked)

Uhm, duh? This is practically a given. Maybe not 1-2 additional characters, but they are OBVIOUSLY going to bring the console characters to Arcades at some point, it seems VERY likely that they will choose that time to make some balance adjustments.

The only part I disagree with is that, sadly, Arc Sys always likes to do HUGE balance adjustments, so we’ll end up with everyone scrambled all over the place again. Jin will be bottom Tier, Izayoi will become overpowered, and Hazama will just get better, like always, because $%#% Arc Sys.

I saw this video. Kokonoe has a 6B loop.

Boring, but considering most of those started from 2C, which she was already getting hilarious damage off of, I don’t think it changes much.

Ep 6

Man, that is so dumb looking. -_-

Patch coming tomorrow that will address the inconsistent lag, and ranked match bugs.

It’s funny because even with the inconsistent lag stuff, it’s still right up there with TTT2 for having really good netplay.

Watch it, it’s the best episode so far.

Low bar is not especially high. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve only watched through ep 3 so far anyway, so whatever. I’ll get around to it eventually.
