Ill be honost, i played sloppy, but at 2 something am, thats what i get. So the basic theory i have is what kinda bs can i get away with, and keep doing it until they figure out how to stop it. That, combined with some elec tricks and limb beating, pretty much is the anti-dhalsim tactic. Dont need to jump as much as i did, but he wasnt stopping them so i kept doing them.
Ball beating limbs, etc, this mstchup has been pretty much covered elseshere, but at least i won some money this time.
Previous link was fer mobile devices since im travelling and using ipod. This link should b normal, sorry. Sloppy sloppy match, i hereby Ban all sf matches after 1am for tourney finals!
Agreed, the Sim didn’t AA you once with back HK, back MP or else. I presume he just decided to counter pick? Anyways, good game i’d recommend st.HK after teleports…
Veserius, what’s your input for c.lk xx elec? I’m a honda hands monster picking up blanka on the side and I’m asking b/c I dont think its possible to piano it and not get elec when the c.lk whiffs. You’re sliding right?
Saw this posted in the tier thread on the main forum:
At 17m Taku@Ratio4 (top Blanka player in Japan) takes on MDR (3rd best Yun)
He also takes on a Sagat and he uses the f.throw, mp roll safe jump setup a lot. That fuzzy guard j.hk seems useful. Never actually thought of using that. He also does j.hp after b.throw dash. I’m not sure if he changed his timing but I’m pretty sure j.mk crosses up. Nice mixup as well after slide in 3rd round. The corner stops the roll early so it baits a throw but he actually recovers quickly enough to hop out.
Last match is vs a Dhalsim but I didn’t notice anything particularly interesting in that vid.
Yeah I talked about fuzzy guard a bit in the labwork thread for a bit, didn’t know you could do it with j.hk in that sequence though, thought you had to use HP.
Fuzzy guards are good vs. Sagat because they aren’t punishable unless he has u2 or super stocked, and you can do some good OS stuff at the same.
I think the thing about Taku that is scary is that he has all of the smart/technical Blanka stuff down but he can outgimmick pretty much anyone.
Also the MDR fight pretty much showcases everything I’ve been talking about for the past month or so vs. Yun.
yea its hella tricky too pull off. In the video he somehow gets the safe lighting to come out(light. stops jsut as the last one hits him.) im trying to figure it out but im getting lighting still after the block and its still pushing me back. ill post more if i figure stuff out.
okay as far as I can tell electricity works like this.
on hit/whiff, 5 inputs only
lp = 5 frame startup, active for 4 frames, off for 4 frames, active for 4 frames, off for 4 frames, then 9 frames of recovery.
mp = 7 frame startup, active for 2 frames, off for 2 frames, for 8 reps. then 9 frames of recovery
hp = 10 frames of startup, on for 1 frame, off for 1 frame, for 16 reps then 9 frames of recovery
However on block only the first rep of on/off of the electricity comes out.
If you mash a second set of electricity for 5 inputs it ignores that turning off aspect. and just does a full elec.
The thing I don’t get is why it doesn’t do a hell of lot more chip then. some of those “ons” have to be whiffing. Maybe the move property changes to be like lp elec where there are less reps, but more active frames?
This Kimlegend guy from the korea cup is the best blanka i’ve seen since mizoteru. His mixups are precise and safe. His spacing and reaction timing with AA moves is excellent. Really impressed with this play. Very solid blanka Ov3rheadGreg has them on his channel everyone needs to see his games.
This was some of my play as Blanka in a tourney against Juri recently. I know there’s ways to improve as I’ve seen from the work of T SRAI, mizuteru, etc., but I’m trying to figure out where to START. Coming from someone who mained Cammy not long ago, it’s a little crazy switching gears. Anything constructive would be awesome, thanks!
