I am not a fan of whiff ball -> throw, even when it is working. It’s one of those things that just sort of stops working.

I think that Yun was very determined to start offense with dive kick. Lol
I know Acqua is very good, but jumping into heavy normals until you die isn’t that smart.
Blanka deals with divekicks very well in neutral situations though. He’s very vulnerable when he knocked down or in the corne rhowever. Having to deal with a meaty/command grab/divekick/fake divekick mixup that has OS’s in it. It’s why Cammy stomps him so hard, because her neutral game is in the upper half of the cast and she can still do BS. It’s just hard overall.
Blanka > Twins in the neutral game though, no contest.

A few of my matches I had vs littlegirl1994 a few days ago.He is 1 of the better Sagat players atm on PSN among with Emblemlord and Moshtaba.
There were a few rounds in which I was playing kinda reckless,but I think the matches were overall quite good gameplay wise.The first match was a Guile vs Sagat and the sec and third match were Blanka vs Sagat replays:

Good stuff. I respect you doing the T SRAI-type one frame links but ending them with electricity just as easily as a ball. Much more well rounded play.

was watching Excellent Adventures… and Mike Ross was playing a bit of Blanka… i like how he pressure with c.LK x 3, s.LP, hop -> repeat… will probably work on some more hop strategies… other than the one i’m already doing…
also anybody got any idea how much frame disadvantage you get after you cancel a normal from block/hit?

so basically you can’t really hop at them if they are expecting it… the only way you’ll attack them is out of surprise…

well one thing a lot of blanka players get away with is that if you try to punish hop too soon you will whiff as blanka is on the other side already. If your punish attempt doesn’t hit on both sides(blanka upball/horiball, ex sbk, guy tatsu) then there is a chance you might get whiff punished.
Chainable jabs are good on block because even if you mess up, the 2nd jab(chained on whiff) should hit blanka in grounded recovery frames, so you can get a full combo.
Hop cancels are better the less you use them by far.

Good explanation… aside from recently (after watching mike ross’s vid)… the main hop cancel stuff i use are.
crossup j.MK, c.MK xx hop, up ball/hop back (so they whiff like you mentioned)
or… after electricity pressure trying to close in the distance after one or two jab xx electricity pressure.
also… i guess after focus attack lvl 2 (or ch lvl 1) back dash… hop forward, c.LK/MK xx hop, mixup
but watching mike ross doing the pseudo reset definitely inspired me a bit…
the main thing i find hop good for is really to beat out people who thinks their FA can beat out blanka’s mid range poke/slides

Yeah timing safejumps, killing charge, and using jab xx hop to destroy focus are probably the most useful applications of the move.
Yep jump in and throw a FA and then if they can’t be unblockabled then a double hop into a combo. They almost always try to throw the first hop, but even in AE I can still get the double hop off. I thought it would get thrown, but hasn’t yet. Hopping out of combo doesn’t ever go well for me. I almost always eat a jab at the least.
