I just faced the rank 1 Hakan player on PSN a few times in ranked:

I wasn’t really sure about this match up because I have never played vs any Hakan players yet since the SSF4 release.There is only 1 thing I already knew about this match up which is that Hakan can punish any balls on block and sometimes even balls on hit (?)…I am not really sure.I have seen Poongko playing Hakan before vs Blanka players and the match up doesn’t seem so bad for Hakan.
During these matches he grabbed me twice out of a ball which I have done from close range.
Ye,sometimes I do buffer a few punches too much and the electricity stays a bit too long.But usually I buffer so much punches,so the electricity will just be very short,so I can do a ball right after my opponent tries to sweep or attack me.
It staggers me that nobody ever seems to punish your jump in’s.I watched a couple of your vids a few weeks ago,and you are getting free jump ins for the jab xxelectricity constantly.Does anyone who is “Highly ranked” on psn,ever use anti airs?

I have almost played every top player on PSN and many tourney players as you can see in my playlist and the reason why I rarely get punished when I jump in could be that I always jump in when they don’t expect it?
Ppl who actually use anti air very often vs me are Emblemlord,RickyTTT,YaGaHacrystal,PunkJewd and many more,but also these can’t always see every jump in time to punish it.
I am not sure,but some ppl actually punish my jump ins,but Blanka has a very fast jump in and it is sometimes kinda difficult to punish it in time with an anti air.I play Guile myself as secondary and Guile has 6 anti airs,but also I find it very difficult to punish every Blanka jump in because it just comes very fast,so what I do is just stay in the defense and wait for another jump in or mistake I can see in time to punish it.
But another reason why ppl rarely punish my jump ins could be that I play Blanka completely different compared to many Blanka players and they are just not used to this playstyle.Many ppl suggest me to change my playstyle,others tell me to turtle more,some ppl say that I am a noob Blanka,etc.
But I have never really changed my playstyle.I play Blanka mainly for fun and not for the win and I love playing play that way and all the time aggressive.The only thing that has changed since I have been playing Blanka since the SF4 release is that I am mixing up more moves into my playstyle from time to time.Here is a recent set I have played today vs a Gouken player.Take a look,if you got time:

As I said above,although many ppl told me to change my playstyle,I still haven’t.Some of my friends told me to keep my Blanka playstyle.

I was under the impression that this thread was for top level blanka play video’s.
You mentioned Emblem Lord.A sagat player,who “uses” ANTI AIR’S against you.I watched the video’s of a set you played against him,And he beat you 10-1, or something.
Im not nitpicking,or picking fights (Im a friend of yours on youtube), but flooding the Blanka video thread,with videos like that arent of any use to anybody.The constant name dropping of “No1 guile/sagat/Hakan/ on psn+insert character name here” stuff is getting pretty tiersome.
It takes some balls to constantly provide links to your gameplay,i will give you that.It just…isnt of any use to anybody.
The Gouken player in your video was awful btw. Play Porkylang2 on xboxlive.No more free jump ins.

Yes,I read the Ken topic I made,but this was long time ago when I made that topic.PunkJewd is a very good player though and I think he can beat the majority of good Blanka players on PSN.
I haven’t played him for a while though and I am a bit better now.
I kinda agree that there are a few match ups I don’t really understand such as the Sagat one since any decent Sagat player can beat me,but I have only played two good Sagat players on PSN so far and the other 1 is Jihad_UK.
Anyway,I accept critic as always and I respect that.It is not my Blanka is very good,but I am not that bad.
If you take a look at my set vs RickyTTT who is the best tourney player in Spain and the best Ibuki on PSN,vs asiantom’s Gen,tabaydaniela’s Guile,Alcheymyst’s Viper,PIKACHUAKUMA’s Akuma,vs YaGaHa’s Abel,JonJon’s Fei Long,etc you will notice fast that the way I am playing Blanka isn’t that bad.All these sets are in my playlist.
I already got told by many ppl who see my Blanka the first time that they call my Blanka noob or say that I am really bad at playing Blanka,but some of these ppl changed their opinion after they have played vs my Blanka.Some sets I have played like the one vs Emblemlord might claim different about my Blanka skill,but I have already played so many sets vs top players/tourney players as I mentioned above and I was able to win the majority of these with the way I keep playing Blanka.
Anyway,as I said I play Blanka mainly for fun and not for the win and I like to play Blanka like this.

Thanks everyone! I do say “Fuck tiers”. I place top 8 in basically every tournament up here in Seattle, and win some too. People just need to stick with their characters and deal with their weaknesses.

I’m definitely taking notes from watching you play. But one thing I know FOR SURE that you should NOT be doing against Cammy is quick recover. If you get knocked down, stay down! Not only do you get up into shit without having a charge, but you mess up Cammy’s timing by staying down. Also, he wasn’t doing it to you, but Cammy gets free Hooligan throw in most cases if you quick get up after a spiral arrow knock down. Aside from that, awesome stuff!
Dude your Blanka is really great! In that second set of the grand finals the way you punished those blocked spiral arrows with ultra 1 was ridiculously clutch. And I know personally that Blanka vs Cammy is a tough match so congrats on that win! I’ll look forward to seeing more of your vids in the future :encore:
Yes, thank you for the advice. I learned about the quick get up after that tournament. Hooligan actually isnt free. You can upball it on reaction if you see it coming, but that is still hard to do.
