Gief was throwin out alot mid to full screen lariats randomly to build meter. Bait it and punish him with the ground slide. This will free up more options to horz. balls since he’ll become cautious about using the lariat so often.
Me in an old tourney match against a pretty good Gief. I get l. mk to ultra a couple of times other than that I make a lot of mistakes. Probably not much help since I barely won though, lol.

Does the Gief not know the matchup? He kept jumping, and you would AA with j.rh. I don’t get why he wasn’t just hitting a different button or jumping at all really.
Secondly every time you neutral jumped on his wakeup you got a counterhit j.hk into whatever. When you can abuse Giefs who don’t understand their own wakeup game that well it makes the matchup loads easier. What he should have been doing is late crouching lariat, but he was just mashing it or something.
Thirdly whats with all the random rainbow rolls/horizontal rolls? So easily punishable and you got away with them. Well maybe thats why you did so many.
Yea, that’s why I kept doing them. I knew the mk to ultra combo ed, I only get it about 1/2 of the time. If it had been a Rog player I know better than to Blanka ball, atleast now I do.
I think alot of players don’t know how to play against Blanka especially defending the ultra. He’s a pretty good Gief player just probably unfamiliar with the matchup.

at the 1:37 mark does the electricity have to be fp to link to the st. jab then blanka ball?
There’s not a good reason for it NOT to be HP shock.
in this match, a few seconds after mark 1:45 , you did a blanka ball, im guessing LP ball, which ended and translated into ultra. what exactly did you do to do that, or should i assume you just finished off the ultra commands after blanka ball commands were input?

My match against Daigo.
I was already qualified and he was my last match. The guy spacing was very good, you never realise how good someone is untill you play them. As for the end of the video i wasn’t expecting a free jump in on a guy like Daigo, when i got the mk the time i thought about doing the ultra was too late for me to get the 1 frame so went for the combo and fucked up 
I just did a random ultra for the sake of it haha
Cool you could pull off the combo against, but too bad guys like him just don’t panic and see the first opportunity for a Super.
Even with the Ultra (lot of chip damage) he knew exactly what to do.

You do HP or EX ball, the corner cancels the animation. And yeah like you said you just finish the ultra command and it’ll come out. You can change the timing on the ball to make the ultra crossup or not crossup. Not a very good setup though.

My question is why he settled for lk, lp, f blanka ball.
Isn’t that link stricter than say: mk, lp, ball?
Nah, it’s the same link framewise. Cr. LK just comes out 1 frame faster so better for tight window punishes as well as after LP xx HP elec.
So if you’re timing is tight you can backdash out of the hop and have a free lk lp ball? Need to try that out. I just think Osjisanboy timing was off. Why wasn’t he punishing the normal up balls as well?
