Thanks a lot for sticking up for me guys. I’m just trying to play to win with the character I like even if he is really not very good in this game. Playing that way (when the match up allows it) seems to be the best way to play Blanka. I know I got a lot to work on. My footsie game is below average at best and I don’t know what I can punish. But I have only been playing for a few months and I don’t have much Street Fighter experience at all. Just trying to do the best I can.
I did not know you could do that. Is that from all distances or only up close?

Hey, I really like your playstyle and watched your matches at frame-advantage.com.
I believe you have a huge psychological advantage playing that way. It’s very interesting to listen to the commentators and sometimes the opponents. They are all getting very annoyed and impatient and don’t realize that a good players needs lots of patience. They are basically already at a disadvantage before the macth starts by not staying calm.
It’s almost like a game of chess where one player chooses a defensive setup so his opponent will overextend himself and make mistakes.

That set had me smiling. All of the unsafe mixup stuff landing, and the combo into upball especially. Pretty sure Dictator could have punished if he did scissors instead of EX crusher, but cool nonetheless.
Hey I enjoyed the Realyst’s style (I like to Turtle too) but one thing about the Honda match puzzled me- Honda can headbut through balls on reaction, and punish on block with fierce or EX Headbutt, right? Why does Haitian sensation not do this at all? :-S
Because he gave up his charge by advancing. The Realyst was smart enough to place his balls when Honda had charge and where he couldn’t reliably stuff them on reaction.
@The Realyst: In case you didn’t know, you can punish MP and HP Headbutts with slide. The former is a wee bit tricky to time properly, though.
You certainly can. If a person you’re playing is trying to use meaty pokes during your wake up, you can totally catch them with their proverbial pants down and get a free, clean Ultra out of it. That only works when they’re up close, obviously.
Also, I never realized what a great anti air that crouching strong was until I watched your vids. Again, good stuff!

I will try that out. Thanks! Yea, I am in love with crouching strong. But I have to be wary because some characters do have jump in attacks that beat it clean and you must use other anti airs instead.
Turtling is a viable strategy even if it’s not crowd pleasing. On that note, I’ve never seen someone turtle almost the entire match every match. Obviously you had success though with it.
That Realyst video is how every blanka, boxer and honda is playing in the london arcades right now. The boxers do at least rush once you get in on them, but the default posuition is down back throughout the round.
