I personally had no problems with it, but Rico said he was having trouble doing his links on the TV we were on and said he didn’t want to complain about it. I personally would have, lol. But we played casuals afterward and he kicked my ass. lol Abel is really tough for Blanka. My plan was to turtle up until he got his ultra then go at him. I ended up turtling more then I wanted to but I got the win.
My footsie game can definitely use some work. There were times Damdai would whiff crouch forward right in front of me and I did nothing. I was more concerned with not making mistakes as opposed to punishing my opponents for their mistakes.
I just learned about that ambiguous ultra stuff really. You will see me use it more.
lol, i actually enjoyed that ken match. first time i’ve seen a super turtle blanka so i don’t know what advice to give that would fit your style of play, except that perhaps you should have tried to use a few more FA baits against Ken.
U gotta be kiddin me, Blanka was just running away half the time! You could tell Rico was getting pissed off as Blanka kept mashing blanka balls and back dashes to the edge of the screen like a pussy.
No tourneys but thats beside the point, even if I saw a Balnka like that on xbox live or psn Id still think the same of it.
Yes its reactions to Anti Airs was good, but the constant dashing away and EX sky roll to get out of the corners was just lame in my opinion. Did you see any major combos? No thats why I dont rate this Blanka
But was his style of play effective? - Yes it was.
Is his style of play very easy to do? - No, it isn’t
Saying that somebody’s style of play is lame or not impressive doesn’t mean shit cause the fact still is: He did well against these very good players. That’s what matters, and that’s also what is impressive.
It’s basically part of a series of matches where they investigate Zangief’s hardest matchups (Sagat, Blanka, Akuma). This is a longshot considering the length of the set, but does anyone have a translation of the commentary? Gief/Blanka is looking closer to 5:5 these days… (Blanka player wasn’t exceptional though)
Excellent matches! The only thing I wondered about was why you didn’t punish Damdai’s low forward with Ultra: even watching it, I could see them coming. Is there a variable I’m not aware of?
