Too late here to check if the scaling is correct, but you can do more than 470 with Super, considering that canceling into Red Focus uses 4 bars (of course that can change before the final version).
I didn’t think of that. I was asking for regular HORIballs to be FADCable, but if we can follow up an upball this is awesome.
Quick math: Jump in HK, cr.mk, cr.mk xx upball, fadc to mp electricity = 378 damage
Also, a simple punish cr.mk xx upball, fadc to mp electricity = 294
Both pretty reasonable damage for 2 bars. If that’s true, I’m trully happy! I’m just afraid that they built it just to assure safety on wake up, and not allow any follow up.
I still think that RedFocus cancel and EX horiball fadc are both too expensive options.
A jump is also 3 frames startup, so that is the same thing, no? Jumps are throw immune for the first 2 frames though - doubt cl. mk will have that property, but it would be nice.
Big thing that jumped out to me is the cr. mk having bigger pushback on hit and block. Does that mean that cr. mk x 2 combos won’t work? Also, what about cr. mk -> elec? That crap already whiffs if you don’t use EX on some characters.
Give Blanka a chainable cr. lk ffs or 1 more frame of hitstun.
All of the characters who got instant airborne attacks had them removed/altered. Juri/Ibuki/Cody. And it’s a good thing too. it’d be a bit stupid. There’d be no reason to not just mash it through strings in so many cases “Oh look, avoided throws, lows, command throws and confirmed into damage. and if i got hit, i air reset instead of taking a grounded combo.”
frame one airborne stuff is dumb imo. I’m willing to sacrifice it to not get crack kicked into a thousand damage by cody because i went for throw/cr.lk
Well blanka has nothing effective up close and no good way to get close, he cant keep away or chip safely so I think instant otg clstmk would have been exactly the thing he needs as a reward when he actually does get close. 230 damage which eats up crtech and throws and air resets if used defensively. Even then he has to hit a non plinkable 1f link to convert that damage.
Now its airborn on frame 3 its just another crap option that will be beaten by crouch tech and stand throw if you try to tick off cr.lk or standing lk or blocked elec etc
Blanka is looking like he will suck again in USF4. I’m not even sure if an extra frame of hitstun on cr. mk is worth more pushback on hit/block. I mean, do they think that Blanka with his existing cr. mk pushback would make him overpowered? That nerf makes no sense. Aside from Ultra/super combos, Blanka already has some of the worst punishes in the game.
