Blanka thread. Good advice would be to pay close attention to anything nohoho has posted.
Merged with original Blanka thread.
Quick Blanka Question.
Just wondering what does more damage to a standing opponent (blocking or not).
Amazon River Run or low Heavy Kick?
ok guys, Amazon River Run is the slide. I am asking because when I am suppressing I like to mix up a lot when they get up from the knockdown. As in, when they get up either Amazon River Run (D+F HP) or a down heavy kick.
It’s nice to have some lineups for knocking them down yet again, instead of doing a down heavy kick and an Amazon River Run (need help? see above.) I like to either backstep roll or get in on a jumping heavy kick just to spite their low block :D.
play the game, do the moves, look at the life bar. the answer is out there.
total failure.
I don’t even know what amazon river run is and I main blanka.
i’m gonna go with amazon river run whatever that is
It’s the df+Fierce.
df+HP does a fraction more damage, but d+HK is the quicker move =)
and neither of them do damage on block lol
the funniest thing yet with these new guys. asking bout all this stuff with exotic names and shit.
Official move names suuure are exotic.
and who uses the official names for anything aside from shoryuken, hadouken and occasionally tatsumaki.
the sf4 forums are especially hilarious with new guys asking about all these moves in japanese and veteran players haven’t a clue what they mean because NO ONE uses those names lol.
Post updated. Read above.
slide does a tiny bit more damage. you’ll get punished harder though if they just happen to jump.
when you knockdown with blanka you should be meatying a crossup short, a safe jump fierce/roundhouse or a s.short or an ambiguous crossup whiff ball into tick or combo more than anything. meaty sweep doesnt’ really buy anything cause unless your opponent is a noob/idiot/scrub they’ll just block it and you’ll lose most of your pressure.
Depends on who you’re up against too, if they have a good reversal you’re going to eat a lot of damage always going for a low hit on their wakeup.
I cant do crossup short, st.strong, forward-backward strong, i never get the last part (headbutt) to hit. Any tips?
that’s why you meaty s.short.
walk in, stutter step also works too. but yeah, it’s all mixups and mind games from there. whiffing a move to bait the reversal etc. etc.
practice. if it’s ST I double tap the buttons. I use both my index and middle finger and hit every button twice. makes the timings way easier.
Anyone have an answer to Dhalsims AA cr.jab. I could not find an answer a couple days ago when I was playing a sim on GGPO.
Nuffin. From the right range you can’t beat it. But behind “don’t jump from that spot” the next best choices are roundhouse or empty jump.
