He’s got good tools, but I think his main problem is that he’s too slow. You can counter everything he does on reaction.
I still don’t understand cr.hp having a 13 frame startup. it’s not that far reaching, even after cc it leaves opponent juggle state, stupid recovery when whiffed.

Also one issue for Blanka is that he has the same problem as season 1 Rashid: his attacks are decent but he does too little damage. even when burning meter it doesn’t really result in much. I remember people talking about Rashid way back when and them saying that all he needed was some damage buffs. Adding just a little more damage here and there would go a long way towards making him tournament-viable but I don’t expect them to give Blanka the same love as their lead SFV character.
I deranked from Super Plat to Super Gold while playing Blanka, I shit you not. Either I don’t gel with him or he completely sucks.
imo he does not suck, but also he is not good. I think you and this iteration of blanka just did not click. with my smurf blanka account I reached plat in 3 days and got stuck there.
Could be, I got to Ultra Plat with Gief back when he sucked, yet I can’t even get to Platinum with this version of Blanka. I didn’t particularly like him in IV either, even though he was decent. I think he was really underrated in ST and HD Remix, and especially in HF. I guess 3D Blanka and I just don’t get along.

They’ve really neutered this wonderful beast and it really makes me sad.
It would be great if next patch they added QCF+P as an accessible way to do his electricity! I remember earlier in SFV they said they would do this with all the “press button rapidly” moves, but they stopped doing it. It’s a shame, but it would be amazing if they added it as QCF+P again
