Pointlessly long winded post aside, could you actually get to the point or do you just like typing shit no one will bother to read apparently, without looking for some sort of underlying implications to it that is. Seriously, what are you trying to teach us? You can’t get angry at a student for not learning if you can’t explain the lesson to them in a way they understand, that is a failing on your part smartypants.
Also again crime does not equal arrest, you can’t state that people account for a percentage of crime based on arrest because first of all people are innocent until proven guilty, and second of all being arrested like in THIS case doesn’t actually amount to a crime being committed because guess what? Innocent until proven guilty…
Soooo, it just boils back down to profiling which really shouldn’t have shit to do with this thread since the kid wasn’t profiled by a cop, he was falsely accused. But stating that the numbers are abnormally high for a certain demographic when it comes to ARREST doesn’t help champion your argument unless you are trying to turn ARREST into actual CRIMES committed.
Id fuck a racist white police officers daughter with my dick 5 times bigger than her fathers, tape that shit and sent it to the racist dunkin doughnut havin ass porkfaggot LOL!
This thread was better when it was ripping into some dude that spanked 350 bucks on a belt, not allegations that black guys do all the crime over there. I mean we already take that for granted get back to the jokes people.
Fashion houses like Salvatore Ferragamo are called “LUXURY” brands because they are within a price range to where its only PRACTICAL for someone who can AFFORD it without having to save for weeks to buy it. Buying a car is the weirdest analogy in reference to saving for something you want because a car isnt going to go out of style it is purely for function, unless you have a certain level of money.
In short, trying to be fashionable if you cant afford it is the biggest waste of money because before you know it the season is over and now its out of style, if we are talking regular clothes then thats fine but if we are talking designer brands from fashion houses, then youre doing a disservice to yourself.
Most fashion isnt timeless, and in that respect you look silly saving for something when its already old. Lets say a shirt by Versace is SS2014. SO that means the average person will only be able to buy it in the spring/summer of 2014, the clothes are already sold to buyers in the winter and you are saving for weeks just to get it by the summer of 2014, and then F/W2014 comes out in a few weeks? The fashion industry isnt like buying action figures or videogames, the clothes depreciate SEVERELY over the course of months if not weeks so your logic of saving for something you want would only make sense if we were talking about something else.
Not to mention if he just waits another season that 350 dollar belt would instantly get marked down to 50% off because by then its already out of season and you dont want to wear pieces from old seasons you just come across as a bargain shopper trying to be fashionable.
In short, stay away from designer labels unless you can actually afford them because they depreciate quickly, and people who know fashion will know you cant afford it because youre wearing last season pieces that you had to save up your money to buy.
There are exceptions to the rule however because some things just DONT go out of style ie: classic Louis Vuitton bag, Burburry Prosum print, DVF wrap dress etc etc but we are talking about a 350 dollar Ferragamo belt that will be old news before you know it.
I’d be surprised if anyone on SRK even read that or cared. Probably only other people who buy designer labels or attend fashion school.
Both can be dirt cheap or relatively expensive luxury items-astronomically expensive one of a kind items.
Most cars start to lose value the moment you take them off a lot. Luckily you can get a lease on a car, I’d hate to see a guy get a lease on a belt lol. Anyways you say the belt would be out of style already but if that were the case why was it still $350? Guess he must have not had to save up as long as we think, since 350 isn’t some giant some of money lol. Also can’t fashion move backwards depending on demand and who is seen wearing something? Not so linear like you are portraying it right?
The thing I want to know is how the clerk was able to phone police and this kid get arrested that fast. Hell, I witnessed a woman being beaten in the parking lot of a store by her boyfriend and the police took 45 minutes to show up even though the station is 5 minutes away. I honestly think a store clerk has no business alerting police unless the name and ID do not match or if the card was reported stolen.
Maybe I’m out of the loop but I think you’re overestimating how much regular dudes care about whats ‘in season’. I know lots of dudes who buy high end shit but ain’t exactly watchin coverage of NY fashion week.
Y’all motherfuckers care too much about what this kid wanted to spend his money on. Get the fuck over it and worry about what your ass is spending on lotion a week so you can tug your pud to hentai.
thats not really playing devils advocate, thats just common sense. lol. black people are more sensitive to it because we see how materialism in our culture can be harmful in various ways, but the reality is everyone is caught up in the game of materialism, we just glamorized it and kinda made it OUR thing in this country, when it really never was just our thing. but black people have a lot of subconscious self hate in them from being programmed by nonsense media growing up and dealing with a society that constantly rejected them for who they were, so we make negative statements against ourselves more often then others in this country, even if those criticisms actually apply to everyone.
