sandbagging is playing poorly/not like yourself on purpose. There are several uses for sandbagging:
trolling- e.g. see here:
(bonus points when you beat said player while sandbagging)
sandbagging can be useful in friendlies/causals if the player doesn’t want the opponent to know his or her’s playstyle or tactics.
It can also be used for mind ****ing, for example when I first started playing my ex-boyfriend in Brawl I would roll a lot on purpose (rolling is a highly punishable thing to do) or attempt to grab him EVERY time I dashed at him, making him think he can spotdoge and punish with a tilt. I stopped doing both of these after awhile, but he still would think I will roll or go for a grab, so he tries to punish me when I’m not doing anything wrong by throwing out a random attack or spotdodge, so I get in at least a free dash attack to punish him instead.
Lastly, it can be used for pure lulz, when you just want to mess around like here:
If Ryu jumped in with that OS where if we teleport then he tatsus, could we do the forward teleport and have him tatsu across the other side of the screen? Or would it fix itself and wed get punished anyway?
I’m having trouble super canceling scissor kicks. After the charge and release of the scissor kick, do I just quickly input the BFBF + K or do have to charge again?
after the first hit on the first scissor kick u just keep going BFBF K. it does not require more charge.
its like this u input that F for that first scissor kick then BF + K for the super.
or u can do it the noob way and just mash left and right directions with kicks immediately after the first scissor kick
It depends on how early/late the ryu times the OS.If it is done early you escape but if he times it correctly it will autocorrect for the ryu.Best option is to block.

Bison has amazing pokes and alot of my success came from fighting at an ideal range and because his walk speed, dash, and the step back in his FA are so quick it increase your ideal range and makes it easier to bait mistakes and generally keep an opponent disoriented and/or annoyed blocking your barrage of safe scissors. That’s what I love about bison I fight in my range and my opponent can’t do anything.
touche. Like it just happened in a match all the blanka player did was hold back the entire time. Im guessing just dash in but wouldnt that set me up to get blanka balled?
it does, but you gotta expect him to get desperate and throw it out, and even if you dont have a charge, just slide or U2 to punish that junk. More than likely he will ball you, as it sounds like you were playing an “up-back” blanka, gotta love those.
just blindly rushing someone down is going to get you killed.
if you are playing a runaway player, lets say ryu, then unless you actually have a gameplan, you’d be surprised at how many jump back roundhouses, random DP’s and FB’s you’ll end up eating. Against Blanka, you’ll eat a lot of balls (lol), against Seth a lot of jump fierces, etc.
you should develop a gameplan around what they are doing and find ways around it to get in and apply pressure and get your damage. If they are just jumping back into a corner, build a strat around that. against a projectile character or say blanka who acts as a sort of projectile but cannot be punished while walking forward, just walk forward and block, being prepared to either go air to air or anti-air i ncase they jump forward instead of back. just stay on your toes while walking them into the corner.
soon enough they’ll have their back to the wall and they’ll have done a lot of work for you. now find a way to get in. lets say they jump back into the corner. try to react to this by jumping in. against say blanka, if you time your jump in so that you connect as they land, he won’t have any charge for an up ball and will be forced to block. against ryu it’s a risk, so you can try using st.roundhouse, etc. just look at the situation and see how you can get in.
rushdown should infer intelligent offense, not mindlessness! once you get a knockdown, pressure is not ALWAYS the best option! sometimes doing nothing can be best, so build your game around correct choices. i’d say it’s important to be even more careful and less offensive against jump back scrubs.
when people just run away, dont lose your cool, just say to yourself, “oh, so you wanna corner yourself? OK im cool with that, lets walk you to the corner.” then when they are at the corner just go to work as usual. EX headstomp if possible.
Hey guys I just started playing Bison and I’m having trouble linking things like cr. lk x3 into SK combos. I can do things like cr jab -> st. jab -> cr. mk -> SK but things like shorts and jabs seem to be too fast in the recovery for me to properly combo. Wondering if its all down to practice or should i utilize things like negative edging?
If the blanka player is holding back; he’ll be mad easy to play against since.
1- He’s going to the corner pretty quick = Your advantage
2- He’s not building meter if he’s just throwing random blanka balls.
So in general if you see them doing that trick just creep up walking (no dashing) and block those balls on reaction. Bison has a very good walk speed; he’ll be in the corner with a little bit of patience. Once he’s in the corner without meter. Rape his green ass with low meaty attacks into SK forever.
