Find a metronome. Set it to 160 bpm and tap lk to the beat.
Oddly enough this method didn’t help me one bit.
Well another thing I do, and I know this sounds weird, I time my cr. Lk’s the very moment when bison smiles. It works…
When I do four cr.lk’s I always count to myself in my head ‘1…2…3…4 CANCEL LK SCISSOR’. I don’t say cancel LK scissor but as soon as four connects you have to cancel. And I count to the rhythm. With Fei’s 4 cr.lk I’m like fast in my head ‘1.2.3.4’ since it’s a chain while with Bison it’s slower. I never had an issue with this combo from the get-go though, so if you want more practice try doing sagat’s cr.lk 4-times, since it’s the same opening to link (2-frame).
Is it Shadaloo or Shadoloo or is it spelt differently depending on game?
i think i seen
Shadoloo
Shadowlaw
Shadolaw
Shadalow
Shadowloo
gawdamnit which one is it? I freaked out because when I saw my Bison’s winquote it was spelt with an A and my GT has it with a O. I dont wanna spend 10 bucks to fix it!!! /,o
From Capcom Database:
Shadaloo (or Shadowlaw) is a biochemichal drugs and arms ring organization featured in the Street Fighter series.
I’ve seen it spelled as Shadoloo a lot as well though.
I personally think it was meant to be shadowlaw but when translated back to english they just carried over the bad english to japanese romanization. I think it’s shadaloo though
Hmm slowly getting the cr.lkx3 link down. Won’t place bets on landing it online though. My way of doing it is a bit odd, I have to figure out how far away from the button to place my index finger and I just tap at it. Landing it 50% of the time at least instead of 10%
Edit: 80% now, here is to hoping I can get it to stay in the ol muscle memory
When I do offline, I don’t drop lk x 3 to sk against human opponent. I may drop it in training mode after doing it 30 times in a row and my wrists start to get sore…
Online, I think I only did it once…
on my old Houston connection…
I know 10 K Bisons who do the cr lk x 3 combo all day online, then when I watch many play offline they drop it like no one’s business.
Is it possible to charge buffer normal moves instead of just super/ultra? Also is it possible to charge buffer dash back?
Hey guys, I’ve been playin SSF4 for about a year now and i feel that I have the basic fundamentals of the game down but now that I am starting to play against higher level players I need to step it up. I started maining Ryu in the beginning but have recently switched to Bison. I have a few questions.
-
What is the most important thing to master about Street Fighter? Is it the combos? Knowing the matchups? Being unpredictable? Having good defense? What is it!? When I play against someone and get demolished I’m just sooo unsure on what I did wrong.
-
How do I know when to attack when blocking a combo? I hate when I’m blocking a combo and my opponent jumps over me and screws up my charge. I feel like opponents who are jumping around everywhere like these are the ones that I lose to horribly. I dont know what to do. I try to utilize Bison’s s. HK as much as I can but its impossible if they are rushing me.
-
Whats a good mixup strategy for Bison once I have SK’d my opponent into the corner? I usually SK on my opponents wakeup a couple times, then c. LK ->SK, if it lands then great but if they block it I try to back away and use s. HK since they usually try jumping after getting hit with my SK’s. Just curious.
universal importants- defense/dealing with jump ins/blocking, MU knowledge, esp. knowing how all characters moves work including the frame data (whats safe on block ect) and
the hitboxes/ranges. Makes your footsie game easier when you know this stuff. And know whats overhead/block low ect.
Bison specific important:
- Spacing
- Knowing how to use his normals/footsie/poking/punish game
- Being able to do cr lk x 3 consistently
Bison is one of the most heavily space-intensive character in the game imo. Also he doesn’t have a go to anti-air, but if you space properly you should be able to use his stand heavy kick when needed, or jump neutral heavy kick. Defense is important for any character too.
You can try warping out of bad situations if they are messing your charge up. Also, try jump neutral heavy kick. It is godlike for stopping jump-ins once you know how to use it properly. If you are in doubt, you can try to air camp with it but don’t get too predictable. I kinda air camped with neutral jump roundhouse here while a few were just reaction:
Anti-airing and dealing with crossup whores are much easier offline when you can react better. And finally you can try focus attacking.
that sounds just about right, sk, roundhouse when you suspect they try to jump, you can mix it up with tic throw attempts too. Depending on character and if they have ultra/meter you can try a neutral jump roundhouse as it must be blocked high, and mix up from there. Reason why I say depending on character is if you try to do that to a bison for example with ultra 1 and if player calls/reacts to it you’ll eat that on the way down. But your best bet is to just chip them to death with light sk, a few pokes like stand hk or mk, and throw mix ups.
Hope I helped!
Wow, that helps me out TREMENDOUSLY. Thank you very much. I’m headed to the lab!
Why is being able to execute cr.lx3>sk so important for bison players??
Good frame trap against characters who don’t have good reversals and people who are reluctant to reversal with invincible movs. It’s also a decent 3f punisher.
Also gives you time to build charge if you don’t have it yet.
also knockdown or more pushback into the corner which Bison loves
Glad I was able to help. Let us know if you have any other questions. Good luck!
oh ok thanks. I’ve always wondered since i see it mentioned alot.
Is cr.LK > st.LK > cr.MK xx HK.SK good for punishing?
No, if you want to start a punish with a light attack then do jab. Crouching jab is stronger than cr.short
