I also feel like st.HP is quite useful against Mika in the right circumstances, it will catch her when she is in flying ass attack range I think. You can try and use it early game if you see them standing just on the edge or outside your MP, MK range looking to bait you into something dumb so they can whiff punish you, that should at least put them on notice. They may start to try neutral jumping later to try and punish the recovery on it, if you are feeling brave/stupid/yolo/highly based you can try and guess when they want to jump with an anti air chain for great mentally broken justice.
Cammy player looking for Birdie players to run sets with. Some days I feel like it’s even, and others I feel like Birdie wins or I could be playing the match much better than I have been. I’m in the Gold League for what it’s worth…without rage quits.
What do you guys think about the Chun matchup? I have problems with the instant air legs, it’s really hard to AA on reaction and if i miss the timing is a free counter-hit, if i defend it’s +1 on block and chun continues the pressure. Birdie’s big body doesn’t help either.
I agree with that, as someone who plays both birdie and chun.
your v-reversal is not for trigger in this match, forget it even exists. Save every precious bar for v-reversing IA legs or lose the match basically.
don’t let her get close enough to even try it, don’t be afraid to go ham on st.mp once you are in range for it, as a) its faster than her st.mk and st.hp which are her primary buttons in the match b) its a good height to slap her out of the air.
piss easy to ex dive kikokens on reaction if shes trying to do any kinda range game so don’t be afraid to burn bar on it.
Like I said I play both, and as it stands birdie has the advantage against her in neutral in my opinion(very slightly) but the seconds the ia legs start flying its game over if you let it happen to you.
all or allmost all of rashieds move can either be punished with a simple JAP+JapBullhead or directly Bullhead/ExBullhead if Eaglespike is the fast flying kick then LP Bullhead his pushback is good but your startup is faster then his recovery simple as that^^
King Jae put up a pretty decent video of a basic starter gameplan for fighting your average jobbing Dhalsim, which has really given me a lot to think about since I am getting blown up by some Sims down here in the dumpster leagues and I’m looking forward to trying this stuff out on the next Dhalsim I find online.
solid dalsim will punish this badly all he does is saying that a armor move will beat limbs… thats like suggesting mashing Dragonpunsh… does it work against scrubs? OF COURS! is it the right way? NO! you go f+HP and use HPBullhead whiledaslsim is jumping to recover space and well timed simply hit him… VTrigger helps a lot but its silly to say that dalsim is garbadge after activation
Yeah but you gotta start somewhere, I’ve been getting blown up by Sims down here in the dumpster! I’m sure for all you gold and platinum league birdie experts here this is useless, but there’s no rules in here that say you can’t post a video about matchup advice that’s going to help just give players a handle on the basics of where to start thinking about how to approach a matchup, which this video does really well imho. So there’s no confusion I’ll update my description in my other post.
I played a bunch of Karins last night and eventually found myself in this mindset. Along with standing over a banana half the time
Maybe my footsies are terrible, but I can only find success with st.MP against her. I love the range of s.MK, except she seems to beat that clean every single time I used it
