Better post command grab positioning is pretty nice walk up sMP/buttons or a well spaced safe overhead

I don’t see much new combo potential. c.HP xx HP BH is nice, but honestly that’s about it and it’s very iffy to hit with consistently if you hit it as AA. Rather just use c.HP ~ HP for guaranteed damage. Meh.
has anyone been able to get sHK cc walk forward sHK sMPxx whatever or is the pushback too much? I can’t get it ;-; the added pushback makes it a lot harder to do cHP follow ups also
No lol. Don’t think it’s possible.
The +1f on s.HK means little to nothing. s.MP does less damage than c.MP, which was possible before. So unless you are in the fringe case of not being close after a s.HK hit, it’ll never be useful anyway.
Dunno if it was possible before, but you can do s.HK CC, s.HK, VT, Super. Not that it has any use tho, since it does less damage than c.HP xx HP BH xx Super.
Dash up after ALL command throws is 0.

LP. bullhead into V-trigger +2
MP. bullhead into V-trigger +3 - nasty.
HP. bullhead into V-trigger +2
EX. bullhead into V-trigger
- 1st hit +13 - Alot of pushback
- 2nd hit + 6 but less push back it seems (more testing needed)
- MAX RANGE bull drop (overhead can be as little as -4 on block). Difficult to consistently execute.
*I’ll be constantly editing this. So far, it looks like they’ve turned Birdie into a rush down character. They overloaded him with oki options now.

im playing him roundhouse to medium and bullhead is good…by the way its bullhead that is -2 and not bull horn i learned that the hard way. Also are we sure crouching lk is minus 5? felt the same to me like noticed the mk nerf but the lk feels about the same speed…
I was able to get sHK cc -> VT -> walk fwd sHK -> sMPxx. It seems that the VT activation makes it not push back so far.
I think it works on everyone except Guile. For some reason when you do sHK cc -> VT he gets hit by the fire
you can do hk crush walk forward crouching fp to hp bullhead does nice damage…also blocked mp to lk counterhits 3 framers plus can go for grabs too…
If the new MP is +1, wouldn’t a LK follow up only trade? (Rather than win)

What were his winning matchups before? I honestly can’t think of anyone besides Zangief he beat. IMO everyone else was 5-5 or a losing matchup for Birdie.
Birdie’s S2 changes seem very weird to me overall in the context of broader S2 changes. In S1, he had some of the weakest post-knockdown follow ups (nothing after mid screen command grab, just a fuzziable slide after revenger, pretty weak post-headbutt options) but some of the best reactive options (e.g., anti-projectile specials, whiff punishes) and neutral (AA as well as normals). This made him really unique in a really offensive/guess-heavy game. Now they say they want to promote character diversity, improve neutral, and make offense less oppressive. Yet, they improve Birdie’s offensive options and hurt his defensive/neutral ones, making him a lot more like the rest of the cast in both of those respects. He also now has a safe ex bullhead in VT, which means you can just be an idiot and guess with it and get in for free (even if you are wrong, you are safe and don’t even need to hold the follow ups - just ex bullhead again!), rather than play smart and then react to something with it. So far, I don’t necessarily think he’s worse, but he does seem less fun and unique. Not a fan of the changes.
s.HK cc walk forward s.HK, s.MP definitely works, timing is very tight though.
Lpn was saying birdie is better really would like to here his opinion on that.
