Birdie General Thread: The Banana Bogey Brawler

Perhaps we can ex bull horn to get in because it’s now safe on block? If so, it’s a fair trade for the armor nerf.

i think the document is not well written (like all of my posts, because i’m not a native), but i think now the ex bull head is -2 on block not ex bullhorn, now birdie is a fat balrog.

lets see how we feel after we get our hands on him…worse comes to worse gief is looking good to me too.

It IS nice to have a charging special you can just throw out at people to get in - sort of like Ken’s jumping EX tatsu this past year, except this one’s easier to jump over.

But the bigger question (actual question aimed at people who are actually good at this game unlike me) is what S2 Birdie can actually do after a blocked EX Bullhead - or one that hits. If it’s blocked, did you just trade meter for a little corner carry and chip, or does it actually put this new Birdie in a good position?

Positioning will be the key for ex bullhorn. You shouldn’t press anything after it because you’re negative. But if it helps you get closer to an opponent that’s playing the run away game, as a grappler, the meter should be totally worth it.

Anyone have an idea when this patch goes live?

Patches are live now for PS4… still waiting on steam release.

You can do sHP counter hit into super but you gotta be pretty close that’s a buff right? Kappa
Real talk though if they gave Birdie CC on his sHP instead of Balrog this shit would make a lot more sense

The range that sMPxxBullhorn connects at seems noticeably larger??

Anyone who has the patch - how is the new cr mp? Is it still an above average anti-air? Is the nerf very noticeable?

crMP trades a lot more now gotta be really on point and do it earlier against the stronger jumpins
Or aa with crHPxx if it’s realllly telegraphed jump lol

If you were a player who like to buffer and whiff punish and had great reactions i think Birdie changes will benefit you more.

It feels like they nerfed his midrange footsie game though with slower buttons and weaker aa a lot of situations where you could sMK/MP and recover to get the aa will now be harder not to trade
The better positioning post command grab and safe on block ex bullhead it seems like capcom wants Birdie more offensive/risk taking sadly
I guess I’ll just have to wait for you guys to explain how his neutral game is improved so much I can’t see it lol

You can get interesting Oki using bullheads in normal and V trigger. Especially the LP one.

WTF f.HP is utterly dumb. It deals less damage and is more punishable AND the enemy flies so far away on CH, you have to follow up IMMEDIATELY with MP HB, Ulti or EX HB (if done a few frames later, only 1 hit). Can’t follow up with nothing else - not even s.HP.

It doesn’t seem to be any change to the knockdown frames of Bullhead or am I just not seeing it it’s hard to tell if capcom didn’t list everything. All the old dash up LP command grab/meaty normal mix ups seem to still work after LP bullhead

meaty cr.hp is decent, lots of possibilities lol. try after command grab
