the lutece twins jump in and out of dimensions, the only thing that could jump in and out of our dimension is something from a higher dimension.
anna said that they aren’t what they appear to be.
the whole reason the cycle happened in the first place is because robert wanted to do a thought experiment.
the story is heavily themed on eugenics. booker was involved in the eugenics movement.
its been said that when the first ships arrived at the shores of america the natives couldn’t perceive the ships that they saw, due to it being completely unfamiliar.
what is the point of this scene? it seems a little strange to me. if this is the future then why is the technology unchanged? if they just used a tear to get there then why is elizabeth so old? there’s a reason he’s made this scene.
in the scene at the end which shows a couple of minutes before the intro of the whole game the lutece twins talk about booker constructing his story
constructing what story? everything that happens in columbia seems to relate to his story coherently, the only thing missing from his story is Anna. so if everything is true then what story are the lutece twins talking about? whats being constructed? maybe the whole story is constructed.
(@6:17 robert is drawing himself. dualism, a man can only know himself and a woman can only know herself)
(@9:21 robert stands there as if he’s watching an experiment, though the main focus for the player is comstock and baby anna. you are being led on just like booker was)
(@9:50 listen to what they’re saying.)
(@10:45 look at how they are all sitting on the boat. dualism. robert and rosalind are mirror image to elizabeth and booker.)
Elizabeth: booker wake up. this is where it started
Booker: I sold you… I… sold you
Rosalind: to your credit you did try to weasel out of the deal
Booker: this is all Comstocks fault, what if I went back. killed him before he did any of this?
Rosalind: things get set in motion
Robert: how would one know how far back to go?
weasel out of what deal? if “wipe away the dept” was a fabrication made by the lutece to replace his original memory then why are they talking as if its fact? thats because it all is fact but not external fact in the way we think it is, its more internal fact. the lutece had chosen booker because of the crimes he committed and wanted help him realise whats going on inside himself
while going through the game you never see bookers face and in the loading screen which has his pick its shrouded in darkness. booker has native american roots but must of felt that taking a part in the eugenics movement he would be able to deny that part of him, which is why he looks completely pale as old comstock. old comstock is similar to decartes “I think therefore I am” decartes denied what would be considered female from his psyche. the relationship with anna, selling her, was like selling a huge part of himself.
ok I’m done. there’s more but I tried to be as normal as possible with this. this is how I see it storywise
The lutece twins aren’t higher beings or anything. They’re just different versions of the same person from different dimensions. While studying other dimensions, they found a particle that existed the same across all dimensions. When they vibrated it to produce a sort of morse code, the other was able to reply. After awhile, they met, which caused crazy ass shit to happen to the Male Lutece. They weren’t from the future or anything, they just happened to be able to see alternate realities where crazy new shit had been invented.
What Ki Shima is really trying to say is that the new DLC for Infinite where you return to Rapture is better than the entire main game of BioShock Infinite.
go back to whatever Diablo clone you’re currently claiming is the greatest game ever until you stop playing it a week from now to play some game from the 90s nobody in there right mind would ever play again
yeah i remember reading that in the game, you didn’t even read all of my post and replied to a part of it. the lutece CREATED columbia, and to what extent? everything seems to revolve around booker, which is the point im getting at
Infinite took everything that made BioShock what it is and shit on it. It’s not a bad game, it’s just nothing special and was mediocre compared to 1 and even 2.
BioShock 1 > 2 > Infinite.
You play SFIV and Injustice, the only way your taste could become anymore cancerous would be by putting a chemo patients dick in your mouth.
Nice thoughts but he’s giving humanity too much credit. People are dumb. They always have been and they always will be. The systems upon which society relies upon emerged from that stupidity and stupidity will always beget more stupidity. The systems we have in place now are just the best that we can do to cater to the broadest range of people possible.
I’m glad that there are set standards and expectations for a human being to be considered functional. You think if everyone was a free thinker we’d get more opinions worth hearing? Ha.
Exceptionalism is the exception. It’s easy to look down when you’re at the top. The rest are just trying to get by with what they have. It’s simply the nature of things.
its true, but I used the video to provoke, which i think is the same reason why he said it the way he did. safe is good but too safe slows things down
and the irony in life is- humans our dumb yeah BUT we are more capable than you can ever imgine, theres also way more foresight in each human than most allow to admit
Force myself to play the game, finished it, and my first reaction was “no”.
All in all, the story really doesn’t work, having funny plot holes and they actually used a deus machina in the final minutes of the game to help clear up the story (no, not the very final scene).
Oddly enough, investigating this, it seems everyone agrees on the same thing as to how the story should have been resolved. But to go about that path, other things within the story would have been alter to fill these minor holes.
Thing is, it makes scenes as to why the story doesn’t work.
Several years in development, the game and story under went a lot of changes; altering the game’s pace has also effected the story, thus forcing changes in the script. When the game was reaching the final conclusion, a “key” was placed to help revert the story back into pace… which was a real coop out, but whatever.
Overall, the game was just a waste of time and was a very disappointing FPS.
I dunno, I look at like this. Had this story been a book and I finished reading it, I would have been upset. Had it been nothing but gameplay, I would be disappointed. The music was very underwhelming, and I guess the graphics were nice? I dunno, never cared much about graphics if gameplay, story, and music is lacking.
Game sucked.
EDIT:
Before the build up, I was saying to my self “please don’t kill off the main character as a way to make the story more dramatic” since, towards the end of the game it was just getting very lame. I think it’s cause the developers knew that the game failed to deliver an appropriate build up for a final climax, and thought, “hey, let’s do something to shock the players” and thus the ending we got. Lame cakes.
don’t even say bioshock infinite sucks its better in story visual aspects and sound its a true sequel to bioshock that didn’t need a sequel but in sted of how call of duty is the same game every year it ended amazingly we donut talk about bioshock2 it represents the dark times please don’t say your a idiot fan boy I love halo half live payday2 dark souls and many more not any sonic or Mario stuff though plz plus I hate faze whichis basicly a faggot talking about head shots
