you’re philosophizing about the worth of information right now, what attracts me is useful information. now if someone is telling me that a medium that stimulates my mind is worthless compared to something that distracts me well, then, I’m gonna have to tell that person that they are wise (seriously) and that there is no argument here.
There was a battle arena type DLC that got released a little ways back. I don’t know if anybody here bought or liked it. But I don’t know if/when they are going to release a substantial story based one. Hopefully…
Yea I passed on the Horde Mode thing, I don’t like those kinds of modes, they bore me quickly. Was just wondering if the story based one had a date yet.
@AmazingFunbags This game is the worst in the series. It’s disappointing. It and Dead Space 3 were pretty big letdowns for me, considering how good the prequels to both series are.
You’re better off getting BioShock 1/2 for practically nothing if you haven’t played them already, or some hack and slash action games or something. This game was mediocre with zero replay value. Sense of exploration is gone too and the majority of the levels are straight lines.
Racism, religion, and mob mentality supplement the story, but are not the focus. They’re not really meant to be discussed as if there is some sort of deeper meaning than “they were crazy and fucking racist”. Wtf am I reading here?
dude THE DIRECTOR OF THE GAME in an interview about this game said he likes stories where you understand it more and more by investigation of the little details
stay blind, just stay blind and deaf. your government is proud of you
My point is that the main part of the story is what Elisabeth and Booker go through, and Booker’s demons. The racism, religion, and mob mentality supplement and set the stage for the story. They are not meant to be discussed within the context of the game (like what Mowr was suggesting). A player may analyze if they wish, but it is pretty clear that those issues are not the primary focus of the game’s story.
yeah I realized what you’re saying after I finished posting. I’m constantly on attack mode when posting here, people enjoy agressively disagreeing with me
but in the name of critical thinking, I think its a mistake to over look the fact booker and elisabeth symbolize something. and everyone in that world is a manisfestation of bookers consciousness.
I think everyones view on the story is right, even mowr’s because it belongs to him, its a manisfestation of his consciousness
Just got a hold of this game this past weekend and played it through and holy mother of Columbia…
The whole way through, such a bizarre and surreal experience it was with this game, I’ve never shed such intense intellectual tears over the beauty and satisfying quality of a game’s story and ending before…
Bleh, late to the party, you guys have had all the time in the world to praise this game, so anything I say won’t be new
so forget all this
Let’s just dance!!!
But
One question amongst many still linger in my head
For the sake of those whom still haven’t played this game
Spoiler Warning!
question
[details=Spoiler] How exactly did Comstock know about DeWitt’s AD branding on his Hand?
Although they’re the same person, Comstock never had his own daughter to give away and thus never suffered the depression which caused Dewitt to brand himself… Did he see it in a tear?[/details]
remember, Comstock had dealt with him many times in the past. When you lost your daughter, Comstock was snatching her from your hands.
@Sonicabid sure, this game has little replay value (except for exploring the BEAUTIFUL world again, and finding the amazing easter eggs), but the storyline more than makes up for it. Bioshit 2 was a trainwreck of awful. First one was only good until you find out about the trigger word, then it just became a doom clone (run from point a to point b, press the button, keep on going).
