Heh, most of you guys probably know this, but i just realized that after a close qcf+s, you can just hold foward and press ABC and the super comes out. Makes that corner combos a little bit easier.
What’s Spencer’s best air to ground attack? H or S? Any instant overheads?
S is better since it crosses up so well and deals more damage. He has a tricky instant overhead against Sentinel, jump forward and instantly do M. If you cancel it right away to H you can wait a little and do S on your way down which will allow you to continue with a ground chain. It’s a little tricky to do because the M passes over Sent if you don’t do it quick enough.
I think I broke Spencer!!!

Damage: 1,750,600
Haha, very entertaining.
is there any way to get bionic maneuvers to hit outside the cornver reliably? need dhc glitch.
Combo to overhead link qcf+s, catch them with BioManeuvers.
You can always cancel the first hit of the grapple hook, but you have to juggle them off a down C so they’re in the air.
Anybody find the differences between L grab and M grab yet?
you can’t follow up L grab with the kick
I have Wesker on my team so I just finish the combo and use his OTG assist to pop him up into s.C -> armor piercer -> maneuvers. The problem is when I bring Wesker in midscreen, its hard to continue the combo after the OTG as he’s slightly far away and dashing in before the OTG gun takes too long. They’re is probably a better way to continue the midscreen DHC glitch, maybe one of the hits of bionic maneuvers gives you more time to dash in.
Whats a good way of using a beam assist to get in, other than just forward grapple?
I’m sorry, let me rephrase. Has anybody found any notable differences between L and M grabs (i.e. reduced hit stun decay, faster recovery, etc)? Thought the “can’t follow up with kick” would have been avoided.
When you use the Light version, he says 'Party time!" When you use the Medium version, he says “So long, sucker!”
From this we can conclude the Light version is generally superior.
I might have to check the frame data and see if the frames are different, but besides being able to kick afterwards and Spencer yelling PARTY TIME, I think they’re no different.
This is the answer I wanted. Thank you, sir. =D

Potentially really brutal setup for spencer off a snapback or character kill in this
This is… Very helpful. Solves a persistent flaw in the setup I had been trying to use.
(When the game first came out I didn’t like any of Spencer’s assists so I made a thread about trying to figure out a way to make use of Spencer’s diagonal assist and using it as a reset. It got one view and I’m so embarrassed about it I tried to delete it but I can’t figure out how. With that being said, I figured I would repeat what I said there in this general thread and see what you guys have to say. Maybe I should have done this first.)
A while ago I tried to figure out a way to get any use out of Spencer’s diagonal assist that grabs someone in the air and brings them back down. I ended up trying to do a reset where I would use a character with a relaunch combo (for example dante’s generic combo everyone knows) and instead of continuing the combo off the relaunch I would have the spencer assist bring them back down.
So with Dante’s generic combo off the air qcf L that brings the opponent down they do H and then S to launch them back up. So for the assist to connect I would have to do H+Spencer assist and then S.
The reason I tried this out with Dante was I needed someone to mix the opponent from their neutral state after being brought back down by Spencer, and at the time I figured Dante had the simplest mix ups for me to do. Two things should be noted: 1. I was messing around with this when the game first came out and have barely played since because of classes, so excuse my lack of knowledge. 2. I figured Dante would have the most straightforward mix ups since he can either go up to them and cross them up, or dash up and hit low, or grab, or of course teleport behind and do whatever the hell.
If this is actually an effective reset, then I’m sure you can find better characters than Dante to take advantage of this.
Edit: You’ll be happy to know I figured out how to delete that travesty of a thread. I win.
I don’t see why you would bother when you can use Armor Piercer which is A LOT safer, does a shitload of damage, causes a wallbounce which leads to a lot of combo options. Even just used randomly it can be slightly useful, unlike the others which can mean instant death against some characters.
Other than being hip for using a different assist and trying to be flashy I don’t see the point in using it.
EDIT: Also the entry-grab seems real useful, gotta try that out…
