I use Doom or Sentinel sometimes on the same team.
I was actually looking to ask if Spencers air zip hit overhead and it looks like it’s already been covered just in time
totally plan on doing this with deadpools low assist
the Zip itself isnt an overhead, the attack AFTER zipping is. right?
I like Arthur because it gives you two games to play: Arthur’s pure zoning, and Spencer’s grapple zoning, plus their supers compliment each other pretty well.
i would assume so
I’ve tried this a lot now, and I think it’s true, you can’t air grab them unless they do something. If they attack, double jump, airdash, etc, I could always do antiair grab or antiair grab super with Shehulk (Shehulk antiair grab even beats air supers, it’s invincible). But if they just block or do nothing on the way down, you can’t grab them. Of course, if they just block or do nothing on the way down, you can wait until they land and do a ground command grab. Nothing guaranteed, but it’s a great mixup.
Correct
i think you’re right. i watched a stream (spooky, i think?) where two guys were testing this out with super skrull. it didn’t work unless the character coming in pressed a button.
The video thread answered my question about med zip connecting in air after a knockdown, it does work. that’s cool
Gonna see how Chris/Spencer/Iron Man fairs. I am liking it so far! Spencer’s off the wall assist definitely helps IM, although I am curious to see how his other two work with Chris.
I don’t know about you guys, but Spencer/Dante/Arthur feels like the perfect team to me. Arthur’s Fire Bottle really compliments Spencer’s rush down and opens up a lot of combo opportunities and Dante’s Jam Session makes for a godly AA as well as a great multi hitting attack that works great as a reversal or to stack on pressure, I sometimes even use it to lay on some extra damage in the corner for my aerial raves. Fire Bottle > zip line > cross up j.S works wonders too.
HEY! thats my team!
its a pretty solid team… Iron man is a decent character who can compliment a lot of people. Unibeam assist is GOOD. frees up Chris from being forced to take Gun fire for assist, letting him get Grenade toss as an OTG extender.
Yay for Spencer
I’m looking at Spencer (Armor Piercer)/Skrull (Tenderizer)/Sentinel (Air Raid) right now… But I’m still keeping my options open for the third character, Ammy, IM, Doom and Storm can still take the spot.
Spencer - armor piercer
Deadpool - quick work
Sentinel - drones
i had a lot of fun with this team when i got to play, might stick with it
So for now it’s IM/Spencer/Sent
Also, dunno if people know this yet, but if you clear Arcade Mode with Spencer, his ending is him going on a ‘date’ with She-Hulk. It involved explosions and street fights, I laughed my ass off.
EDIT:

According to this part there’s nothing like the MvC2 guardbreak. Although I haven’t tested this yet.
My team keeps changing as I play more. Right now I’m using Spencer (slant shot grapple), Wesker (otg gun), Iron Man (unibeam). The first 2 assists are mainly for combo extending while Iron Man is purely to keep the opponent busy. I’m thinking of switching out Wesker because I’m terrible at his pistol combos.
Also I’m spending way too much time with Spencer in training mode and neglecting the other characters, mainly because his grapple makes it so quick to position yourself and the enemy for specific situations.
spencer is my point for the foreseeable future. spencer (not decided), wesker (low)/haggar (lariat), and sentinet (drones/bombs) are what I’m running right now. It’s just so easy to pile on pressure with weskers teleports but i enjoy haggar a lot too.
I’m thinking of Spencer (AP) / Zero (Ryuenjin) / Doom (Shield or Missiles)
Spencer on point as always, I’ll minimise my use of hypers with him (he deals damage fine without them). The meter he’ll supposedly gain will help Zero. He needs Rekkoha and possibly Genmu-Zero for damage and Sougenmu to boost his offense and his assists. Doom is there for his assists mainly, I’m unsure which one to use as of now but the idea is to use the assist which works best to help Spencer use his wire pull to move around the air with support and works best with Zero’s command dash.
Also, for those with the game, is Armor Piercer punishable?
Yes.
Shield and Missiles can go either way, depends on which character you wanna help more. Missiles are good for Spencer when he’s swinging around, but Shield can also function this way. Shield is better for Zero who can keep pressure going with it.
Missiles are really slow though so watch out with them.
What a fun character.
I’m finding that Spencer’s light and medium attacks get stuffed a lot, but that could just be because my footsies are terrible. He seems like the kind of character that just wants to smack you with his heavy normals and out-prioritize you.
One of the things I really want to spend some time in the lab with is swing canceling.
