OTG assists into Arm Grab hyper are going to be great, especially since you can build damn near a full bar before you bounce them the second time. He does it with Wesker in this video, and I’ll bet it works with Hulk at well.
I like that use of Wesker assist a lot, wonder if I can do the same with Shehulk’s low otg assist. If so, Shehulk might be a better assist and she and Biocom might make better teammates than I thought.
(optional grab) A, B, C, Hyper Bionic Arm, X-Factor cancel, C hook with B followup (kick+wallbounce), Hyper Bionic Arm, DHC into Dorm’s fireball. It took like 95% of Capt. America’s hp, not bad (you can always DHC into Maximum Wesker for a guaranteed kill)
By the way, this may seem obvious, but you can extend any combo with a well placed assist. In Spencer’s case, A B C FC can’t be followed by a launcher nor hyper, but if you place a dark hole or chuns legs or a similar assist just right after FC you can start over with A B C and then launch or whatever. Again it’s obvious but may be vital, it virtually extends all combos in the game, yet it is not so easy to place.
Assist OTGs and wallbounces count as normal, and you definately only can do one of each. Two Armor Piercers (or one and Wesker’s butterfly) sends the target directly to the ground with no bounce, along with ground hook+B followup and B cmd grab+C followup. Same if you try to air hook/otg twice (both count the same). BUT, with a neat otg assist like Wesker’s, you can wallbounce the target, launch and slam it, hook otg, launch and slam again, assist otg, quickly hyper bionic AAARM. DHC into Dorm’s fireball for extra fun, as always.
I tried out Spencer tonight, pretty solid character it’s like Omega Red remixed. I need to experiment in the lab more to get more out of his air dash and grapple, it’s like I wasn’t quick enough to Scorpion that shit. I’m worried about how he’s going to punish assists, and deal with keep away but overall I like the character.
spencer is great fun. I was running spencer with sentinel and a couple different characters as a third (looking at haggar/ryu/tri-jumper/arthur as possibles). the command dash can be really useful for setting up ambigous crossovers with sentinel’s bombing assist (or others). whiffing a grappling hook means eating a full combo from the likes of x-23 and wolverine though. was not feeling spencer’s assists so much.

was a total accident to. was playing with my friend who doesn’t really play fighting games so he was just mashing magic series and hadouken (all he knew cause he fucks around in tvc)
he was dead in front of me, he throw the hadouken and i just did id to see what happens.
Ate the fireball AND you still get the hit/wall bounce
Sentinels drones are really good to help getting spencer in. You can call drones assist and zip in. You can hit confirm a launcher if the drones hit, if not they are in block stun and you’re pretty much in their face.
I’m pretty happy to hear this. I wonder if it cancels out multihitting projectiles such as “Unibeam” as well or just single fireballs like “Soul Fist” and “Hadoken”?
I was playing with Spencer/Task/Sent-Bombs today and did pretty decently, I definitely need time in the lab though for anything to deprogram myself from MvC2.
Only a few things I don’t like about him are that, he can’t punish assist well and he can’t retract the arm a la Omega Red.
I’m off to a pre-release tourney where I’ll probably play Spencer/Iron Man/Amaterasu
