Just assume he doesn’t have a third hyper, everyone else has had all of theirs showcased.
Does anyone know if he can do “Hyper Grapple”, wait for the bounce at the end, KFC into bionic AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARM?
I can’t recall exactly, but I don’t remember that being an overhead actually.
I very much doubt wire grab is an overhead, but I saw UltraDavid do some kind of grounded punch that looks like it may be an overhead. Gotta dig up the vid and then I’ll edit this post.
EDIT: Here is the vid. Check 1m32s. That command normal maybe an overhead.

Just curious, for his wire grapple assists, does it do any followup, or does he just hit them with the fist and then leave? Like, does he pull them to him, does he launch at them, etc.
Are there any vids showing his assists being used?
Yeah Bronzefist I remembered that normal, but I couldn’t remember ever actually testing if it was an overhead. Also, his grapple assists bring the opponent to you if they hit.
I think it maybe an overhead mainly because of it’s slow startup and because it has a typically “overhead” animation. Gonna have to verify for sure.
Forward+C certainly looks like an overhead (reminds me to Cody’s) but I didn’t test it neither. Also, it can’t be cancelled into a launcher.
Here’s a gift: Spencer’s 10th (last) combo trial:
jump C, st.A, st.B, cr.C, E (launch), B, B, C, E (smash), air C hook (OTG), E (in the air), E (launch), B, B, C, air A hook.
I think that’s around it. I also tried out things like hook zipping in a combo (doesn’t look very useful, but it can help you to get to the ground before the enemy or do mixups). Ground hook+B (kick) is easily followable (just as Armor Piercer) in the corner, requires strict timing in mid-screen; yeah, you can catch juggling enemies with a ground hook and keep on.
BIG THANKS for this–I was wondering what other combos he could do after landing his grapple (:qcf:+:atk:) in the air. That’s awesome that he can land air E, then land and relaunch with E into another air combo.
There was a vid where he instead did his Armor Breaker (qcf+E) into Bionic Arrrrrmmmmm super. So the end of the combo looked like this:
Air C hook–>E (in the air)–>(Spencer lands) Armor Breaker xx Bionic Arrrmmmm
Bionic AAAARM DHC into Dormammu’s tracking fireball is a combo. Sweet, there’s time to charge hands or fly and try to continue the combo xd
Can you KFC after the bounce in his punching combo super, into hyper bionic AAAARM?
Do you think you could also, after the C hook OTG do E (air), anti-air hook C, command grab/new combo? Or is the hook to slow?
The hook grab hyper looks uncancellable, either via DHC or X-Factor. Bionic Arm can be X-Factored into another Bionic Arm, which can be DHCed into almost anything (as I said, Dorm’s slow fireball does combo).
@:034: nope. After any air hook (otg or not) Spencer falls more or less at the same time as the juggling enemy, so there’s barely enough time to hit with an air E or C and try to keep on the combo in the ground. Still got to find a setup to combo an anti-air grounded hook.
Edit: I got to do some nice combos with Spencer… Shame most of them don’t use hyper bars, but anyway they do good damage. This one is my favourite (in the corner):
Command grab, A, B, C, Armor Piercer, A, B, C, E (launch), B, B, C, E (slam), OTG air hook.
Also,
A, B, C, hook + B (kick and bounce), A, B, C, Armor Piercer, A, B, C, E (launch), B, B, C, A air hook.
With most characters, after bouncing or OTG’ing twice (or a mix of both) it makes it impossible to continue the combo. For example, after the air hook in the last combo, the enemy instantly falls to the ground and gets up. I don’t know if this law is universal or depends on the character, or if there are ways to reset it (DHCing, X-Factor cancel or so).
Oh, just to note; his command grab A and B only have one difference: if you do the B grab and quickly tap C, Spencer kicks the enemy in the air with wallbounce. That’s cool, Spencer is a character which relies A LOT in wallbounces (i count up to three attacks causing them) and OTGs. Stylish!
^ Holy cow, thanks for the info. I did already think this while playing, but since Spencer can get good damage without relying on his hypers. In theory he would make for a great battery character
ooooohhhhhh you can two wall bounces per combo? That’s awesome!
…or do you mean that you can only get to choose twice when it comes to OTGs and wall bounces. For example, combos will have to look like this:
- OTG & Wall Bounce
or - OTG & OTG
or - Wall Bounce & Wall Bounce
Do you basically get two choices to extend your combos via OTG and/or wall bounce?
Playing against my friend at Sheffield Fight club he managed to combo the punching super (Bionic Maneuvers) into Bionic ARRRMM without KFC.
Trouble is, The ARM connected after a timeout so I can’t say for sure. In any case I don’t have any footage so you might want to look into it.
Does anybody have a link to jwong playing as Spencer? I would like to see what the character is capable of in the hands of a pro.
Spencer hyper xx KFC xx hyper dhc proton cannon?
Would that work? Random thing I thought the other day
yea i wondered that too but i cant seem to find it.
How about Hyper Bionic Arm > DHC Amaterasu Slow/Wolverine Speed/Arthur Armor/Dante Devil Trigger/Hsienko Armor > relaunch air combo > Air super/otg super?
I’ve been thinking about it alot…
