i am not a big anime fan
but this seems kind of interesting and i might give it a looksee

never read the original, but it looks like they are totally avoiding any popular marvel characters like silver sam and sunfire

might be goooood

Admittedly I’m a little biased on this one… but from what I’ve been told so far you can expect a fairly light hearted, fun book with some pretty stellar art and not the usual Claremont long winded exposition.

Definitely worth a look-see.

I got the first issue of the original series and didn’t care for it. Hopefully it will be better this time around.

Nakayama’s artwork is a huge improvement over the original, I’ll say that much.

Same here I hope this one will be good, the first series wasn’t all that interesting.

Interview with artist David Nakayama on Newsarama.

Issue 1 came out this week.

Anyone else pick it up?

I thought the story was pretty cool but much like Deadpool I’m in it mostly for the artwork - which is great! The Miyazaki and Tezuka references in the story were pretty funny though.

It had good action which entertained me, was OK with the art though.
Still WTF kinda name is Honey Lemon O_o

oh if you only knew. i have a feeling its a nod to cutie honey. pretty much the mother of all transforming magical teen girls.

Thought so, though C. Honey sounds more plausible than Honey Lemon to me :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh snap BH6 revival!

Second issue was fun!

I liked the Marvel History of Japan in the book, which they probably lifted from the Marvel Universe Atlas books. I have the first issue of Atlas but it is sitting in my rather huge pile of MU comics that I have to get around to reading lol! I didn’t know that Marvel still acknowledges GODZILLA attacking Japan in their universe! That’s what I’m talking about Gojira in 616! Can I get a retarted Elephant sounding growl like the big bad green lizard makes, word!

I heard the 2nd issue was horrible-

…but I’ma read it just to see.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

when did godzilla attack marvel?!!!

Marvel had the license to Godzilla in the 70s. He met a lot of Marvel characters during that run. I knew that Marvel still acknowledged Monster Island because that has been part of the Marvel Universe books for quite some time but not Godzilla! And of course Savage Land has become the default Dinosaur Island for Marvel anyway. Kewl.

Depends on who you ask.

This series wrapped and it turned out to be a lot of fun! Claremont’s writing was a bit too wordy for my tastes as usual but the artwork more than made up for it! :clapdos:

In the last issue they mentioned an island full of monsters near Japan. HELL YEAH GODZILLA’S MONSTER ISLAND REFERENCED YET AGAIN!

I’m still wondering what exactly is Fred’s connection to the old Devil Dinosaur. Last I know of Devil Dinosaur, he was on Savage Land. BTW Devil Dinosaur fought Godzilla before too lol!

Oh and in the last issue they show Jimmy Woo’s first appearance ever in a reprint of a Yellow Claw story. Jimmy Woo is going to be in Marvel’s upcoming Agents of Atlas story. And hey, did you know that Jimmy Woo was also involved with tracking down Godzilla during his 2 year romp through the Marvel Universe?

Yes, it all goes back to Godzilla. GOJIRA! GOJIRA! :lovin:

Dang, Sano. Sounds like you’ve been peddling in some continuity porn over there. We should get a bunch of other guys, get in a circle, and read some comics!!

Looks like Sano’s the only one I chat with who liked this series. ATM at least. It felt pretty bleh to me.

Hell yeah Godzilla in 616 word Toho give up the rights if you are not gonna make anymore movies. Rubber dinosaur with crazy elephant roar FTW! :looney:
