It’s closer to HNK than Guilty Gear to me, just because of the way you make combos.
The disc that comes with the Big Bang Beat game? I think it’s out of print now, but there are some copies floating around on Yahoo! Japan Auctions. I just snagged me a copy, so I’ll find out for myself in a couple of days.

More like no one plays it anymore, and the game is no longer being patched/developed.
So this game died out? Shame, I never even got to play and now no one plays it at all…

It’s a real tragedy. So much is already there (good music, art, characters, and feel), if they just made the right, simple adjustments it’d be an incredible game. I still enjoy it even with the flaws.
I would like to think that the reason why the dudes behind this game are lying low at the moment is for one of two feasible reasons.
A) They’re hard at work for the sequel/next big update to BBB for PC.
or
B) They’re yet ANOTHER Doujin-dev that wants to try their hand at the arcade scene, but are probably willing to wait their turn while the onslaught of fighters will be at its most action-packed from April on down. Either that, or they have yet to get a publisher/distributer to help 'em out (like ShoK, of MONSTER, got Examu to help him out with his own venture).
I would hope that, whatever the case may be, they don’t just let this product die. Especially when we seem to be on the verge of the most exciting time to be a fighting game fan, for the first time since, like, 1996.
I hope so man cause this game has alot of potential but just needs a few features to be a little bit updated.
I too hope this game continues somehow. It has a great set of characters and the overall feel is very good. But in it’s current state I don’t really want to play it.
the update did kind of murder it… it was the only game that every update every character played almost totally different each time.
Yeah, the fact that they changed the characters but not the problems with the system mechanics made people lose interest, sure.
However, as far as I know even the Japanese and Koreans have stopped playing it, so I really think interest in it has been lost due to the problems with the gameplay more-so than the patches (which didn’t fix the gameplay).

The website says they’d be working on 2nd Impression. Maybe it’ll be cooler.

They never say that they are working on 2nd Impression, they say that the Aja Games group is working on a “new game for 2008” but to be honest that thing was posted at least 8 months ago and the official site is almost dead.
If i remember, this game dies because the official group (NRF) got an internal fight and split, thats why Aja Games born and NRF delete the old official site.
