Alright guys…for those who are still looking for a way to pre-order/obtain this game legitly, listen up, for I think I’m onto something.
I dunno what’s up with Himeya and Palet at the moment, but they seemingly aren’t making any strides to get this game in a timely fashion, so, that led me to try another venue that was suggested by a good friend of mine. That place is Squareplus.net.
What is Squareplus.net? This is a joint that also specializes in doujin wares…bending more towards the “adult” side of the equation especially. But what makes this place so unique is how you can make “custom order” requests. Doesn’t have to be porn or otherwise “adult-related”, but if you just supply the info necessary in your order form (web site links for the product in question seem to do just the trick), they’ll do their best to get the item. And don’t worry, the correspondent that I’ve been keeping in touch through email seems to know great English…probably better than some legit speakers that I happen to know. ^^;
But any way, as I speak, SP is in the process of completing my pre-order, which basically is costing me 40 bucks (plus 10-15 bucks worth of shipping), for an altogether price of ~$50-$55 bucks. They’ll also be getting a copy of the game from Toranoana, which is the most famous Doujin joint in Japan.
I’ll admit, this is quite a bit more involved than say, putting a pre-order down for something at play-asia. But in light of how the other guys don’t seem to be getting the game any time soon, this may end up being the only way for us Gaijin to get the game around release. So, I would definitely recommend all those who want to try and get these new doujin fighters that will be cropping up over the next few months to give these guys a try, and see if it works for you.
I suppose the only bad thing would be that you would have to, of course be able to have access to a credit card, and validate your age in order to register on the site, but barring that…
Combo: 5C->214C->D->Stuff
Position: Anywhere
Meter: ???
Damage: ???
Note: Rouga’s basic setup off of any hit.
Perhaps there are better combos than those and Crimson Disaster can enlighten me, but they seem to be pretty solid meter to combo conversion. There are, of course, a crapload more of combos than that but I’m too lazy to write every single one of them out because the rest should be easy enough to figure out from what I listed.
RedBeard:
For all the corner combos where you juggle with 214C > 41236C, you can generally do 214A beforehand for more damage. Only reason not to is laziness or meter conservation.
623C shouldn’t be done in the middle of corner combos- do it to end combos with knockdown, but if you are planning on boosting it anyhow, just do whatever to 214C > 41236C XX 214D for more damage. That uses a lot more special meter, though (214C > 41236C uses more than 1/3 of the bar) but you can make some adjustments to deal with that, and if you’re not planning on spending a ton of bar anyhow it should work out fine.
If you ARE planning to spend a lot of bar (4+) then it’s better 'cuz you get charge options.
For reference, your corner 3 bar combo does 5971.
Here’s a simplified version of my new 3 bar variation:
5A > 5B > 5C XX 214C > 41236C XX 214D, walk back 5A > 5B > 5C XX 214C > 41236C XX 214D, walk back 5A > 5B JC jAB XX air 214D, land, 5A > 5B > 5C XX 623C
damage : 6099
Actually this uses LESS meter 'cuz supers don’t use special bar and it has one less 623C than yours D:
That is the SIMPLIFIED version though, I can add more hits in there for more damage without using more super meter.
For the most part those combos are pretty good though. Just there are little things to tweak them, and there are crazy things to make them HUGE.
If theres one change this game probably would need immediately to make it have lasting appeal ts that you can’t use Air Boost until a certain time after jumping. It looks like almost everyone will have an easy 50/50 if it holds like this
edit: can someone list all of the system moves the only ones i can gather are like
enhance
boost/downboost
boost during guard
mashing dpad during P will get you more special meter
down down P puts super meter into your special meter instantly
edit: rouga’s mixups are really fun, he has like 50000 good corner options that all lead to a great combo, and they all work off B&B strings lol, i just really hope this doesnt carry over to other characters
Cause sometimes when Senna pokes the shit out of me I’ll just do 214B(Boost) to knock her away (though if it is as simple as back+boost while in block stun then n/m… I’m used to it that way cause of Melty Blood).
I just sent in a request to Palet Web to carry the game. We’ll see what happens. They didn’t carry Metal Gun III till I asked them to carry the game in June of last year. Last time they replied pretty quickly so I’ll let you know if I get a reply.
I call this the most gangster doujin fighting game ever. This game rocks. If you can buy it, you better buy it. This game is pure pwnsauce, I don’t know what else to say.
Is the game itself actually out yet? If so I would have no problem ordering a few copies for people. I would, however, have to get a liaison in the US to ship them out, including one to me.
If the game isn’t out yet and you’re just preordering it then that’s different. I don’t like to spend money on something that doesn’t exist yet.
Edit: Is it just me or does this game not support Negative Edge? Maybe it’s my ps2->usb converter, but I could swear I used this before with MAME and I could negative edge. Also, does any one else have a problem with fireball motions? I’m using a stick that I’ve never had a problem with before and for some reason when I roll a qcb it doesn’t always come out. I’m not sure why, it could be my converter. All the directions work fine though, it’s just sometimes when I roll that motion I don’t get shit (which sucks if you’re trying to combo and you roll back for the super and you just get a boost).
