Omega Red if used correctly can put a serious woopin on Sent. Now I just need to learn how to use him correctly.:bluu:
It depends on the team you’re using with Jugg’s Splash assist. I heard it works great with Mag/Sent/Juggs. I would only use it if I had a good character to protect him with, and can take advantage of the OTG properties. Not his best assist IMO but in some cases it works great.
Yeah, that Juggernaut splash assist doesn’t work too well with my team Jugg/Hulk/Sentinel. I’m just not too good with Sentinel to give him good cover if I used that assist. Hulk…man, I don’t know. I’m a super fish-out-of-water with him, but he’s fun as hell to use. You need to hurry and post up some of those vids of the party animal (Hulk) so I can have something to check out. I just call him that cause his clothes are torn up and it looks like he hasn’t had sleep in 10 years because of all the non-stop partying. Yeah…I don’t know how my brain works either, don’t question it. :bluu:
If you haven’t already, go to the Hulk folder and set it to show threads “from the beginning”. That will be a good start; it pretty much has what everybody that ever gave a damn about Hulk has to say about him.
If you’ve already done that, then I’ll be glad to share what I know… clearing up &/or clarifying anything from the abovementioned threads (some of the info is a little dated) & telling you what I’ve found since then…
…if you want…
I have played that very team literally 10,000 times if I’ve played it once - and I’m pretty sure I’ve worked with Hulk more intensively than probably most anybody on SRK.
I’d really like to get better with him. The only thing I’m really capable of at the moment when I bring him in is either two low kicks then the grab where he swings the opponent in a circle and then slings them, and usually punishing an assist by Gamma Charging then going right into a Gamma Quake. As crazy as it sounds, I mainly use him to frusturate my opponent. If I’m not going up against a Cable, I’ll call out the Sentinel ground assist while I rush in with Hulk. I didn’t even bother wave dashing, it doesn’t seem like it’s too effective with Hulk. I basically try to corner the opponent, then I wait for an oppurtunity to Gamma charge then Gamma Quake. Once I’ve got the opponent in the corner, I call out Juggs dash assist. I pick his anti-air assist and that seems to keep flying Sentinel off of Juggernaut’s case long enough for me to mount an offense. Any info or strategy on Jugg/Hulk/Sent team that you can spare is a big help. I used to use Jugg/Jin/Sent, but for some reason I picked up the Hulk. Also Buck, I’ve heard a lot of people say this team is just a team for casual play or a joke team. I think this team could fair pretty well if somebody has mastered it. Then again Juggs is just a big easy target for somebody who’s ungodly with Storm or Mags. Thanks again.
 Juggs owns Mags, and he can give Storm a run for her money. I’ve played against some of the highest ranking Mags in the country and they all fear my Juggy. Ask Mike Mixon aka Mixup.
Heh, maybe there’s something I’m missing. I was trying to be modest about my statement. I usually do mangle up Magneto fairly easy seeing as how anyone around my area relies on those combos with the Magnetic Tempest special. That’s pretty easy to get out of. To date, I’ve ever only had one player give me troubles with his Mags, but those days are over because that was before I knew about glitching and using the Sentinel ground assist(long time ago). When it comes to Storm however, I don’t fair as well as I do against Magneto for some reason. Her runaway usually gets on my nerves and makes me make a mistake. Most of the time I let that person continue running away, and when they get to a certain height they try to do a typhoon to chip me. Little do they understand that once Juggy has reached his highest point in a super jump, he can still fly even higher if you do his bodysplash all the way up there. Depends for me, if I play somebody really good who uses Storm along with a Sentinel assist, that usually gives me the most problems. Damn Ed, all this talk about Team steroids and Juggernaut has got me fired up. Too bad you and I can’t lock horns to see who’s got the better Juggs, but I’ll assume it’s you seeing as how you’re well known here and people know what you’re capable of.
Well compared to some of the other well known Jugg players I haven’t met one thats better than mine. Mike Z was pretty well known for his Juggs & Hulk, and I have a friend that plays him all the time and says mine is much better.
If you’re ever in N.Florida let me know. I might be making another trip to Mobile this summer, I’ll let ya know.
That is sweet my friend. If you do decide to make a trip to Mobile, let me know. PM me or whatever or I can give you my aol screen name. Furthest I ever really travel in Florida is to Pensacola, but hopefully something will work out.
Heh, now all we need is Buck Jones, Deathfist, Gammadynamite, and Juggrknott to join the party. Clash of the titans.
I haven’t forgotten about the Hulk info, btw. It’s just that it’s a lot of information, it’s hard to know where to start, and it’s hard to motivate myself - if you would have caught me 12, 18 months ago that would have been perfect.
I still pledge to share what I know with you eventually.
I started to play hulk but i’m doing pretty much like R.P.D just messing around until can land a combo and DHC to sent or the unmashable after the super dive. I’m playing with hulk/sent(Y)/col(AAA), i gave up juggs a lil because actually i’m playing in a ps2 so no glitch.
Yeah you said something about that earlier in the thread, but I didn’t think “Juggrknott” was being serious about it.
Bloody Chunks: The PS2 should have the glitch. If I’m wrong, ignorance is bliss, but I’m very positive I’m right. The X-box version is supposed to be the one without the glitch.
Well regardless of wether Buck Jones is a liar or not, the more important matter is that [MB2K]Mizter Ed needs to bring his ass to Mobile so we can get this Big Man party started!
Heh, sorry, I haven’t been to the arcade in a month, so I haven’t been able to hear Juggy’s raspy hateful “AARRRGGGHHH!!!” growl that he makes as the match starts. Withdrawal symptoms of not having my daily dosage of Juggy I guess. :bluu:
I’ll ask my gf when she plans on visiting her grandma again. She was just there a month ago so I don’t think it will be anytime soon.
I’m hosting a MVC2 team tourny in June. You should come. Its about a 4 hour drive to Tallahassee. Just take I-10, then left on SR-27. I live close to the interstate. There will be no entry fee, its just for fun. So far we will have peeps coming from Dothan, AL, Ft.Walton, FL, and Valdosta, GA.
OR
There’s a Orlando tourny on July 3. If you drive here you can car pool with us down there.
Thanks for the invite Ed, but with summer comes finding a job in my area.:bluu: Otherwise I’ll spend the rest of the summer broke. Damn, that’s too bad, cause I’d really like to go with you to that tourney. Ah well, someday we’ll get a chance to play.
I picked up Jugg-ground/Sent-Y/Hulk-B today. I dig the anti-rush properties of this team, but got zoned to hell by Cable/AA, & Doom.
So, starting simple, is there anything Jugg can do to get around Cable jumpback HP XX Grenade/VB?
How about Doom superjump HP, airdash, Pink Shit x2?
Hulk seems to get around a lot better, but I still ate Pink stuff in my face a lot trying to come up from below Doom, or trying to launch him as he fell on me. :o
You need to constantly be trying to gain ground with a combination of walking forward + super jumps (normal jump = near useless)
Cable j. fierce is dangerous, 'cause he can still cancel into AHVB. Careful.
Work him towards the wall; DO NOT let him get on the other side of you, or you’re back to square one.
If you SJ clean and can hear him do a viper beam, take your belly flop.
If he grenades high enough (normal jump) & without assist backup, take your HC.
If he does VB (regular blue beam) under the same conditions, do the same; you may need to do a normal + special move in order to stack super armor & make it work.
If you get close, try to land c. lk + HC
Take your airthrows when they present themselves.
Of course, all of the really good assists make it very-difficult-to-near-impossible; the job is a comparative breeze when Cable is solo.
A lot easier said than done, as you know. It’s a $hitty job on point; having Jugg on the side for a quick counter XX HC is a much, much better scenario.
Jugg v. Doom; very poor matchup
Jugg actually does have a wavedash, and this is one of the few applications where it’s moderately useful provided Doom does photons high enough. Try to stay under him whenever possible.
If he does photons not-so-high, try to land SJ hard normal or belly flop.
Don’t chase him in the air too much, or face full of photons.
When you get close, try to keep him on the ground with blockstun rushdown. Doom is pretty laggy & “headcrush-able” on the ground, he’s much more comfortable in an air-to-air fight with you. Just make sure you don’t eat a Roman Candle doing your rush (d’oh!).
Hulk is similar, but the Cable fight is $hittier and the Doom fight is easier. Let me know if you care to hear a more in-depth analysis.
Thanks, yeah I’d love to. I read a bunch of your posts in the Hulk forum earlier too. Good stuff. What’s so bad about Cable vs Hulk? I did a lot better with Hulk than Juggie, mainly based on the strength of airthrow into combo. And what’s good about Hulk vs Doom? I got FUBAR trying to fight that. Too many photon supers. XD
Also, what order you play this team in? I’ve been doing Jugg/Sent/Hulk, but then I try to glitch up Jugg & blind tag/counter Sent, leaving Hulk for last because his assist is fastest and he heals like…
Oh, and what’s the deal with stacking super armor? Sometimes I can get Sent to punch through VBs and stuff, but sometimes not.
