Best Ultimate Tech Talk Hang Out Loud Edition Season V

Huh, I’m suprised. The lighting in that picture looks way too even for LEDs. I wonder how they did it then. Any chance they cranked up the juice to the EL? Sorry if its an ignorant question, I’ve no idea how they work.

It could be both, a combination of EL panel and LEDs inside the buttons.

Yes, it could be both. It certainly looks like LEDs inside because the buttons are completely lit up from within.

The “graphic” would be printed on backlit film, which could diffuse any LED lighting. But it does look like EL panel.

I told NRX, it almost looks fake, shopped or 3D CGI buttons. Very strange lighting going on there!

I still need to get my project underway. Glow Hut here I come…

Hmm, what to do with an HSS-0136? Should I…

A) …replace the stick and buttons (Seimitsu) but keep the PCB and get a converter?
B) …fully mod it, new art, new parts, new PCB and add a USB drive and USB splitter so that it runs emulators when you plug it into a PC?
C) …re-sell it since I’m bound to make a profit (got it for cheap)?

B! B!

And yeah, the Sanwa EL/LED freakout totally does look CG, but it’s real all right!

Hey, I have a question about these things.

http://3btech.net/deidelatousb.html

Anyone ever use one of these? A friend of mine wants to transfer stuff from an old hard drive to his laptop. Just want to know if this is a good way, and how to use it. But more importantly, about getting power to the hard drive.

Edit: It says there’s a power adapter, so never mind on that. But it doesn’t show Windows 7 as being a supported OS. Is there one that is or would that still work?

C! C! Sell it to me! I’ve wanted one of those sticks for ages :[ How much would you want for it?
<edit>
Have you ever thought about making a HRAP (or FS3/EX2 :3) version of your Virtua Stick template, d3v?

New post @ d3vlicious. This time it’s Saviant’s b15 Bewlix custom which he had me do an Air Gear based top panel for.

D3Vlicious - Custom Arcade Stick Art - Air Gear Ringo “Bewlix” bySaviant

looks awesome d3v

I know that for RJ-45, people prefer the switchcraft for wood.
Is there a preferable USB passthrough for wood?

The neutrik usb passthrough works just fine for wood.

Very soon I will be introducing a simple solution to mount neutrik rj45 connectors to wood cases. Boots will still be able to be used too.

Awesome.
Now I just have to hope that the retard who made this case didn’t fuck up a 24 mm hole
I hate to talk shit about stick makers… but this stick was one of the worst experiences of my life. (bad enough that I gave the stick away to a friend lol)
<edit> Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some Seimitsu LS-32 switches (http://www.akihabarashop.jp/images/seimitsu-LS32Microswitch.jpg other than akihabarashop? (I want them sooner lol) I want to try these in the Hori EX2 that’ll be here tomorrow.

lol who is it if you care to say? (i doubt)

I’ve tried, but the button layout doesn’t make it look right.

I’m intrigued, what did you have in mind Nitewalker?

Also is anyone else psyched about the remake of Berserk? The trailer though short look damn good in the animation department (fingers crossed for Millennium Falcon arc).

He doesn’t make sticks anymore… don’t want to drop a name but he was based out of PA lol. There was so much shit wrong with it, and it took 8 months to finish, and had a fried pcb. Yeah. Did I mention I needed to hand sand the plexi to match the wood curve?

So today my ex2 and my SE came.
the SE came in a small box, and the ex2 came in a box two and a half times that size (it also used old pre-paid envelopes to pad the ex2). I was so confused when I opened the small box to find the SE lol
My vinyl dye just came too, I can tell its a can of paint without opening the box. We gonna get busy now

Ah, how to mount this neutrick on this case. I can either slap it on there and screw it down like 90% of the public does, throw a rubber boot over top of it, or go through the trouble of chiseling out a recess so it mounts flush with the case. It would be ideal to mount from inside the case, but that’s not really an option. Decisions, decisions…

FLUSH MOUNT! its pimp…
