Best Ultimate Tech Talk Hang Out Loud Edition Season V

A Dremel is your friend. A few seconds with a cutoff wheel to slot the screw, then use a flathead to do the rest.

Is this a Vewlix cab, just in a different color?

ā€œContinuum Shift 2 runs on Taito’s Type X2 arcade board and utilizes a new Taito high speed I/O interface to allow for more precise inputs. The game will also be the first title to use Taito’s new NESiCAxLive Download distribution system, which Arc System Works has said it will use to distribute periodic character balance adjustments.ā€

This is full of awesome.

They look to be knockoffs.

Real Vewlix is the red and white cab beside them to the left.

Those are good knockoffs! I like the color scheme. I want one actually, haha. I hope they are cheaper than a real vewlix.

If Sanwa made flat topped buttons like the PS-14-G i’d be in heaven

Lol, no. You can see the AWSD/Egret bottem half. My vewlix will be the blue version though. Reds are hard to get and cost more. I can’t wait to do an official lag test on the blue.

wow it just isn’t my week.

My package came from ultimarc.com with my jpac and arcadeVGA and instead of a jpac he sent me an ipac >:(

Now I have to deal with shipping it back, and I work 58 hours a week.

Couple of observations after doing an LED mod:

  1. Two LEDs is definitely the way to go for solid lighting
  2. Aluminum foil in the button well doesn’t affect jack shit
  3. You can* totally* drill into the switch on a 30mm Seimitsu button. I used a 3/32" bit in between one of the corner pegs and the tiny corner ridge. Worked fantastic (though I did mess up one switch finding out that you don’t drill right into the peg… it’s got to be slightly more in the corner).

does anyone know the cheapest way to ship an arcade stick without being raped for shipping charges?

so far, the cheapest i found was ups for $18 to ship a hrap. any place cheaper?

if you remove the shaft, you should be able to fit most TE sized sticks into a medium flat rate priority mail box (the skinny kind, not the folding box kind) and that’s $11 and 3-5 days to anywhere in the US.

interesting. does a medium flat rate box fit the hrap? thinking of parting a hrap and selling it

I dont think so. The box’s dimensions are 13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8"
Even if you use your own box, 6 lbs is $15, and 8 lbs is $18. Pay online and there’s a small discount and free delivery confirmation.

toodles do you need an IPAC? They sent me one, instead of my jpac, and told me to keep it. But I have no idea what it’s for.

I want this stick bad:

I appreciate the thought, but it doesn’t do anything my stuff can’t do better. Thank you though.

Finally got around to updating my site with spenzalii’s ā€œEl Guapo.ā€

D3Vlicious - Custom Arcade Stick Art - El Guapo v.1 (VAS-HG custom byspenzalii)

i decided i’m not going to go thru with the mirror finish on my tekken 5 stick. too much work and too much money. but the deciding factor was that i’m trying to countersink a few screws on the top like this.

so if i countersink from the top, the mirror finish is going to look messed up. i’ll just stick with a piece of plexiglass. for the art, i’m thinking of using some louis vuitton background .

anyone know what tools i need to countersink the metal top and how much would those tools run?

on a completely different subject, does anyone feel that certain combination of sticks and buttons work better than others? i’ve tried the ascii flash with the seimitsu clear kns and it didn’t work that great. the ascii flash with the sanwa obsfs work great though. ls-56 with ps-14g is another combination i like. and heres my magnum opus: modified seimitsu ls-33 with seimitsu clear kns.

I use a flash with an extra ls33 spring added to the jlf spring with kns and I like it a lot.

LS-56 + PS-14-G is my absolute favorite. in general I like for the button strength to match with the joystick. Stiffest stick + stiffest buttons feels great to me. If I have a sensitive stick and stiff buttons, or vice versa, it just feels really uneven to me
