These are probably equally as cheap if you can live with a straight layout.

Oh man Kyle.
I now notice your Signature.
Laugh Out SILENT!
Actually, the cheapest of those I found was for $60, most likely because itās vintage. Iād really like to go with the NEX, since itās got an MDF case, and because it would be kind of annoying to have to switch back to a straight line even though Iāve already become accustomed to the Astro City layout (which I have on my current stick). Also, since the NEX uses a plexi overlay that means I can have a custom graphic on it. The NEX would give me much better customization options overall, and given that I can find it for cheaper I think it would be a better option. Otherwise, I may as well just keep using my current stick, since the only thing Iād really gain by switching to the KBM is a more convenient size.
Well, Iāve decided to take a chance and purchase the NEX stick. $39 + $4 shipping. I almost feel bad about cannibalizing the poor thing, because from everything Iāve seen and read about it itās an excellent piece of hardware in itās own right-- the only problem is, in its current state Iāll have no use for it whatsoever since it only works if you have Messiahās wireless NES adapter or the NEX system which has wireless built in (and both have been discontinued, since messiah tragically had to fold a few years ago). Still, I am looking forward to having a pre-built box to play with and I am eager to unpackage it and play with it for a little while before I gut it, even if itās not plugged into anything.
I played Ms. PacMan at the laundromat yesterday evening on what I believe was a Wico joystick.
It shouldāve been 4-way only and a lot less stiff.
fuck
Iāve actually got a Wico leaf joystick in my basement that came with my cabinet. Some of the parts on it look a little worse for wear, but maybe I should look into finding a home for it sometimeā¦
I would love to take a HRAP Pro V3 and wireless dual mod it. I just canāt afford to import one thoughā¦
Even better, get a custom case about that size, but big enough for happ partsā¦hmmmmmā¦
Has anyone thought of hacking into a Beatmania controller for the PS2, and convert the whole case into a Arcade Stick? I know itās a crazy idea, but I thought itāll look very nice and itāll be fun using the Beatmania buttons as the Punches and Kicks.
any information on coinopexpress.com and arcadespareparts.com
both of them look really shady, and iām lazy as fuck to do some research on their accountability. anybody know if i can rely on them for ordering game pcbs? getting a cabinet from a hk based site seems a lilā suspicious.
Decided to try my hand at contributing another article, unfortunately, itās got nothing to do with sticks and custom art. But whatever, I want my stars!
Bought a SE stick when they first came out for 80
broke on me quick and I modded it for 50
kept it till now and tried to sell it, couldnt find anyone. Had to sell it for 70.
Just bought a TE for 140.
Damn, I lost money there⦠Shoulda just bought a TE in the first place!
i donāt know why the SE even modded are so underrated⦠i too had trouble trying to sell it, so i decided to keep it, a big loss indeedā¦
Iām adding a 360 pcb to a PS2 stick I made recently and I donāt want to add a new button for the guide button. So I want to make the start and select buttons work as a Guide when pressed together.
I have searched for a guide on this but canāt find one and I know it will be a simple job but I donāt want to screw it up, so I thought I would ask here.
Cheers for any help.

I wonder if itād be possible to mod an Atari 2600 joystick to work with a PS3.
Male DB-9 + Cthulhu = Atari->PS3 converter.
Hahaha, yep⦠thatād definitely work, but I was thinking something like adding 18mm buttons and wiring it all into an internal cthulhu. That said, I have no idea if itād even work. I should go crack one open during my lunch break and study it.
Thanks for that jdm714!
Just realized using fine steal wool to clean your soldering ironās tip increases its lifetime exponentially. I guess the same thing would be true using a sponge but who has the time to get up and moist it all the time?
