Applied another bright idea to my HRAP3. Seeing as I had already attached a velcro wire tie to the cord, I decided to take this further and attached a small velcro strip to the back of the stick so that I could attach the card via the velcro wire tie. Wouldn’t stick at first, but after using the same thing double sided tape that I used for the back label it now works like a charm.
I’ve been using those for some time now. If you read my post above yours, I actually described a way of using those plus an extra velcro strip to keep the cabling even neater.
After playing with a JLW, a p360 and a iL comp with a heavy spring, I realize I really do prefer the heavy ass American style sticks. I wonder if I can double up the spring in the JLW for some more tension. Otherwise, my lovely case may end up being a conversation piece (or something to unload for less than I paid for…)
Good one! But I don’t think that’s even possible. That said,I’ll probably play around with that JLW and see what can be done. JLF is too far off for what I’m looking for
Well ideally, the tutorial would be more about modding the stick and using different springs to get a feel that you’re comfortable with, not exactly replicating the feel of another stick. Would be quite relevant since it would be easier to fit a JLW on a TE than a HAPP.
True. In fact, Hori uses hot glue on the wiring harness for JLFs on their HRAPs (fun fact, I actually hurt myself trying to get that shit out with a screwdriver… that slipped right into my finger).
You know what? Maybe I will, since I’m going to try combining springs on my JLW when I get it. I just can’t show mounting and wiring in a TE, since, well, I don’t have one…
i have a namco stick and i got a few questions about it
do you guys usually mod these things? whenever i play with it, it seems like i gotta rescrew the balltop after every few rounds cause it’s usually about to fall out by then
the top part of mine looks alright, but the bottom looks like complete shit. is there a way to clean it?
since SEs are so crazy cheap right now, and SSF4 is on the horizon i’ve decided to take the jump from pad to stick
ordering sanwa buttons/joystick/balltop from lizardlick and ordering a SE. i plan to customize the stick with Hatian flag art and matching buttons/balltop. the only part i’m really dreading is the custom art, doesn’t look too fun. at least there’s a kinko’s nearby…

not the final product, just a preview. i’ll tweak it a bit to closely match the color of my sanwa buttons. probably add my name/tag somewhere along with other stuff. also i reduced the quality of this image just to upload (of course i’ll get rid of the white template areas)
i’d like a meshball but i’m trying to go as cheap as possible lol so i’ll just get the regular dark blue for 2 bucks
i hope to have it done in time for a tourney in 10 days, think i can do it? i’m a complete newbie to customizing but i tinker with gaming accessories all the time. i’m looking forward to it.
a lot of these modded sticks that people post just put my project to shame but i look forward to posting it because i’ll be so proud haha. also be nice to show off in general
i’ll paint the case another time, maybe this summer.
Did you know that the base of a Seimitsu LS-32 more-or-less just slides into the square area of a Hori Fighting Stick 3/Wii, where the original stick was?
Means you just need to drill 4 small holes & widen them.
The shaft is too long though.
