I decided to go on and get that Logitech guitar rather than a stock GH one. Figured if I’m going to have a guitar dual modded I may as well get a good one. Considering it can be had for $65 now, it makes sense. Of course, by time it’s modded it will be back up to the original price, but it will be so much cooler. Gum, I’ll have to send you a 360 pad too; the 360 version is orange, and I’s much rather have the black of the PS3 version. Still it would be nice to know if the 360 board in there is CG or not
I’m holding a Byrdo case right now. First time working on one. Damn this thing is amazing. I think I’m gonna cry when I have to drill the pcb holes into this thing.
So, anyone seen the new stick that’s coming with the Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition package? Interesting concept despite being a) an SF Anniv clone b) stuck with the MK3 layout. Also, for an officially made stick, the wiring on that seems messy as well.
i grew up on the mk layout w/ happ parts…every arcade and/or bodega in my area had one. every now and then i would come across one that used a refurbed capcom sf cp and layout and it was a bitch to play on after being used to the traditional layout. trying to do tsung morph combos that involved both run and block buttons really sucked and as did the button spacing. i think its great of them to pay homage to fans of that era tho.
as far as the actual stick itself, its hard to tell exactly whas going on in there. the hinge is great, but many people that have done customs have incorporated into some of their sticks. the added storage is nice and convenient, im sure many people will find it useful, but i wouldnt see myself really using unless i had modded it with an MCC + rj45 and was keeping the extra cables in there. the under carriage protecting the buttons is a nice touch so nothing in storage interferes with the stick and button operation. cant really see whas going on with the wiring too much b/c of the angle of the pic. overall nice, but i am going to pass it up for the kollectors edition because im more interested in the scorp/sub figurines and will prolly be a bit cheaper too… much like the t5 or t6 sticks, im sure many people will be selling theirs or stores will be liquidating the stock that doesnt sell, much like we recently saw with the tvc sticks, and its quite possible i’d pick one up then. besides im working on my own uber custom that should hopefully be ready by april, so it would be pretty stupid for me to buy that as a downgrade.
My first question was “is it common ground” too lol.
Maybe the wiring is messy because its just a prototype?
Probably Happ parts with the new switches too, but shouldn’t be hard to swap out with Cherry switches.
The question is, is this cheap enough for me to dish out for? I really don’t give a damn about Mortal Kombat, I don’t plan on playing the game. I do love buying arcade stuff though…
I need a modder to wire up my new astro panel to something that will work with a pc. Because I don’t want to do it and there is a lot of work involved.
