how’s the custom case comin along nitewalker? you been tinkering with it for a bit… I’m interested it what you designed!
What I’d really like to see is a custom wooden case that had the same facial dimensions of a TE. One that could accept madcatz bezels and get delicious plexi covers from tek-innovations, and still use one of the hundred of pre-fabbed templates available. I’m surprised it hasn’t been done yet, actually. Or maybe it has been, but I haven’t seen.
SimpleCase is cool. I’m excited to see what it turns out to be. I don’t mind 6 button. But you sure you really don’t want 8 button? It’s super cool that you refuse to make them that way, but I’m just thinking for customers who still want them. And maybe Vewlix cases? I know you like the fact that it ships if listed. That is cool, too. I’m just thinking for the sake of giving more options to get more customers. But if it works for you as is, more power to you! :tup:
The worst part is I’ve had the two HRAP2 bodies (well, 1 T5 and 1 HRAP body…) kicking around, all of the holes for the RJ-45 jack, and the 24mm buttons drilled. Hell. I even have the 360 PCBs and one of the MC Cthulhu’s and Imps.
I’ve just been doing more playing than modding lately, though the buttons, plexi and art for the first one to get complete willl be ordered this week… the second one I’m scared to start on until I know what Toodles new PCB is lol
<edit> I may order one of your (beautiful looking) simplecase’s to use as a loaner stick for tournaments, if my other plans pick up. I’m trying to justify going against what I’ve started working on by modding two HRAPs to work for everything lol
The cold has been keeping me out of the garage. :sad: Gonne be in the 50’s this week though, ideal working weather (for me). I still need to go grab a space heater for colder days.
I thought about doing 8 buttons as well as vewlix layouts (those might still make it depending on requests; I originally planned astro city and vewlix layouts as options). I’m just not too sure how 8 buttons would work out on the design I came up with; the cases are roughly the same size as agetecs; 8 buttons would be a squeeze.
It’ll be easier in the end for me to have more cases on hand if they’re one style. For now…
That might change once I remodel the garage in the spring and can work all hours of the nite…
Sounds good. These are definitely compact enough as easy bring along sticks.
