I can talk to Keits about setting us up with a table. I talked it over with him at EVO actually and it sounded like he could snag a corner for myself (and whoever else) wanted to set up and do mods n’ whatnot. I can see if we can get some banquet hall tables so we don’t have to worry about any of that stuffs either.

There’ll be a lot of people there with PS3 TE’s as well as a shitload of other types so it’s right up your alley. It was pretty large last year, and will be way larger this year since he’s got like 2 big halls booked for the event.

I’ll see if we can’t get a beat the modders event on listed in the OP, because I definitely want to run that (perhaps on stream during down time?).

It’s not until May so there’s plenty of time to figure the details out, but Keits is a good guy and he supports modders like crazy so he’ll set us up with whatever we need more than likely.

With cyanoacrylate, yes.
Laugh.

:amazed:

Naru Narusegawa and Chii.

That sounds great. I think we should do a speed mod exhibition match. See which dual strike method is faster: Preakazoid’s teasy + dual strike or Gummowned’s soldering iron and his dual strike SMD.

See who can assemble PCBs fastest. See who can build from empty case fastest. See who can do the fastest padhack. See who can replicate J&J Super-duper wiring fastest. Man, we could make a whole side tourney!

That’d be a really interesting match, however by the time the tourney rolls around I might be cheating in that department :frowning:

Other night, guy handed the TE to me at 2:30am, I handed it back to him at 2:40am…he had just finished his 2nd or 3rd match of SSF4 and gave me a “wtf” look .

Standard modding, you’d take that any day of the week. I’m far too slow to even try to compete but I think it’s a fun idea nonetheless.

I think we should have an Speed Assemble a cthulhu in a tek case contest. Wires ground daisy chained and qd’s pre stripped and crimped. Tek case already assembled, All setups laid out the same. When done winner must plug in stick in ps3 and press up down left right lp, mp, hp lk, mk hk start start home for the win.

I remember the NYC tournament I went to I had 3 chimp boards already prewired to 360 TE pcbs. All I had to do was unplug everything and switch the boards. Was the fastest install I did.

Fine its settled…DRUNK MODDING MATCH!

We need our own bit of time on a live stream.

After all the day’s games are over, just have the quickest modder matches. I like rtdzigns way of putting it. But I’d still want to do it with ChImp kits, just to avoid anybody using those nasty screw terminals. Plus, then you have to be able to do the assembly fast. If we used Cthuhlus, I’d stick with the solder side, though.

Hell, I’m up for those drunk modding matches. Final Round? :stuck_out_tongue:

I will gladly throw in $20-50 to first place.
Well, at EVO, which will be my next major.

Would be nice if we had people interested in a bunch of TEK-CASES that were assembled. We just wire them up, and then the profits go to the costs of components, plus money to victor. I’d pay entry fee. It would be fun. And hopefully shed a little more light to the awesome community we have.

I wish I knew how to mod >.>

I’m so useless :frowning:

You not useless! You make delicious baklava and send TE’s to all the happy children across Canada. You come to this event and we’ll teach you. Or I will, at least.

I’ll probably go to evo. Bottles on me pure patio.

I think since most people say they going to EVO, this is where this needs to happen.

This video reminded me of you, jamesepoop…

James is jamesepoop.
I am James also, and I’m aznlilbluepoopie.

That is so weird.

Naru Narusegawa and Chii.

jdm love the wiring job from the chun-li stick you posted earlier, and all the ones ive seen before. its actually great to see the lil personal touches that different modders do and that differentiates them from others.

Wow, just read a very interesting article about a DIY multi touch screen Build Your Own Multitouch Surface Computer - Page 1 | Maximum PC.

After reading it I figured this method would be out of the question for a stand alone virtual arcade stick. However, it would be very suitable for a stand up arcade cab. An on the fly uber-customizable button layout for an arcade cab would be a reality.
