What’s the reasoning behind this list of yours? Matchup difficulty? Execution requirements? I can understand the reasoning behind placing Yang in an “easy to use” list in the sense that you can learn his punishes and combos and whatnot faster than any other character’s, yet using him efficiently takes a lot of patience and knowledge about the game. So he’s not really an “easy” character. And what are Hugo and Elena doing in an “easy to use” list? They’re characters that require both good execution and matchup knowledge to stand a competitive chance. Eeeh you’re not making any sense kthx
maybe you like jake the snake more than kevin nash, but who is like that?
Yeah you really just divided tiers for the most part, which shouldn’t be that relevant to someone starting the game. I don’t see how Yun could be easier to use than Dudley.
It all depends on your playstyle, but don’t forget about Remy. He’s not crazy technical, though like with most lower tiers he does take a bit more work, but I’ve always had a good time with him.
If you haven’t latched on to anyone yet, there’s no harm in playing around with the cast more until you do find what styles of play you like. Try playing a character for awhile, learn some basic combos, and see how you like it, if not move on. You can always come back, it may take you a bit longer but I have found often in games my main ended up being a character I didn’t initially like.
Seriously now, easiest chars to learn are ken, yang, or chun. People suggesting random shit are going to just slow you down.
i suggest learning ryu. hes as solid as a character can get. perfect mid tier, mid stamina, has weaknesses and strengths that you can learn and grow from. and hes also a basic character of the game that will get you into the game more.
whatever you do, dont use denjin. its bad advice to tell someone to learn denjin to start off playing. it wont get you anywhere. play sa1 ryu for fundamentals then switch later when youre more comfortable.
and second, dont pick makoto. shes just as overpowered as chun. we dont need another makoto in 3s.
Hahahaha
Makoto isn’t a good character to start with but she DOES teach people to learn how to mix up and take advantage of having a huge arsenal of options.
Anyway, I suggest Yang.
you can only play yang if you have a heart of gold:angel:
Every character is easy IMO.
DDT is a shenanigans move. Plain and simple.
It’s best used sparingly as a round closer every few games. People forget the move even exists and get Diamond Dallas’ed into a loss. You can also use it to maneuver around the screen while building meter or as a bootleg cross up.
Learn Ken, Chun, Yang and (non Denjin)Ryu. Most straight forward characters in the game.
playing makoto doesn’t teach you 3s it teaches you to play makoto… if that makes any sense
yeah makes sense. No characters nearly have that many options like she does.
And LOL@ putting Yun in easy to use. You will not win with him as a 1st character for a LONG time.
What part didn’t you get? I said all the characters take skill to use, but as a beginner, you would find them easier. How is Hugo not easy to use for a beginner? He has long range pokes, and a 360 people will love to try, and get. It’s like the beginners in SF4 picking Zangief.
Yun = jab > shoulder… And dive kick all day.
Dudley is all about timing, some people cannot do any of his combos 100% even with a year of practice.
Even comparing the two is asinine.
Playing Hugo in 3rd isn’t exactly like playing Zangief in 4. Hugo doesn’t have stupidly good priority, the likes that Zangief has. Rushdown Hugo isn’t exactly easy to do, and turtle Hugo has to hope he guesses/predicts right for his big damage. In 4, the system allows for Zangief to get away with easier stuff. EX Green Hand beats out a lot of moves. Ultra beats 95% of all the moves in the entire game. High damage, can do way more damage when he gets in compared to what Hugo can do, etc. That’s like upgrading from a 1995 Honda Civic to a 2004 Acura RSX. Same company (in technicality), but one is built better and all shiny new… and what not.
Dudley isn’t just timing. He’s about mixing the opponent up and delivering the right combo. Some people can’t do those combos… part of that reason is that they’re going for the wrong combo, I’d say (usually the multi-MGB combos in the corner).
Yun takes way more work to be effective. It’s often said that in order to understand Yun fully, you have to understand his supers in order, 1-2-3. And when you finally do understand Genei-Jin, you need to know it off of combo, off of blocked activation, and even a free activate. It’s beyond just dive-kicking and doing shoulders all day. You have no idea how well I’ve seen people punish Yuns for relying solely on Genei-Jin and not having proper fundamentals.
End thread.
ugh I took the bait
Jake the snake invented the DDT you mother fucker. Diamond Dallas was DDP.
These chars all play differently. Chun if you want to be a cookie cutter player, with your walk back walk forward wait walk back walk forward wait etc. (see Denjin Chuns) Ken if you want to be able to hit and hurt from all angles, and Ryu if you want to make it look like it hurt a lot every time you land a combo. I swear to god his impact noises are so much deeper than everyone elses, it makes my head spin when I get hit by a dp and see that I only lost like 12 percent life.
I see things differently than these fucks because I go for the mindgame aspect of this game instead of the technical. Every character can deal damage in this game, I’ve seen an Elena payer beat some of the best players in tournament at denjin/ffa so it’s not like you couldn’t learn her. Marcus did, right at the start of his game too.
3rd strike is effort and looking for the easy way out is like denying yourself the pleasure we all had when we started to learn this game. So just learn it and stop asking for alternatives. Practice makes perfect.
Hugo has an awesome dash in giga, and jab slap giga. Yes, they do play differently, but Hugo has good tools in SF3. His running wall grab works, and he has a good air grab. Hugo has a better mix up game than Zangief, and has better pokes. The thing Zangief has over Hugo is his knee cross up that will fuck you up. Using the green hand that’s not in the combo will get you punished.
That’s why I put Dud is the not so easy group.
Yun’s other two supers besides Genei-Jin are just hitco’s, not hard about them. Sure, every character has those specific masterful things about them like kara palm, and keeper, but so does everyone. You don’t have to do those. I’ve played good Yun’s before, they all play exactly the same.
-
If you fuck up your genei jin, get your opponent to the corner, and overhead mix up
-
When that is done, and you didn’t catch him, do the command grab, and do the genei jin combo from there
Once you get his genei jin combo down, he’s not more difficult to use than say 12, or Necro. Putting Yun in the list with them is an insult. In the end, people have their opinions, and if you think Yun is as difficult to use than 12, good for you. Why don’t you go make a list?
No, I did.
I like how you told him to go make a list. That made me chuckle.
Was the chuckle LOL, or ROFLMAO?
it was like lololol
Joe, out of curiosity, where do you play at?
