Return of The Mongolians.
The answer to this question is simple: everyone but Urien.
(P.S. Yun is as hard as you make him out to be, Geneijin can be played as simply and reliably as possible [Nitto], or as complex and nearly as technically difficult as Urien [Kuroda][Saru].)
Urien can be played really simple too. To be honest I believe Urien to be most effective this way…unless your name is RX.
The best and least technical character for a noob would definately be whoever Pherai is currently using
…OH SNAP
From my experiences Tengu-stone oro doesn’t have very many technical combos and has a lot of nice pokes and a pretty good fireball.
This is straight truth
I say if you want to start easy… I hate saying this, but go for the shotos. If you don’t want to choose them. Then choose what I use! Ibuki. It’s a whole different experience.
But in general. 3s is easy to play, hard to master.
I play at ai and in my head.
How’ about you?
pssst… hey guys, I think the OP of this thread stopped reading about 2 or 3 pages ago
That point aside, Ibuki is definitely not a good character to start with IMO.
OP was the original target but now everyone has the option to read it as well. Considering they have the same question. Besides this helps our egos more than it helps his game. I like being able to sound like I know what I’m takling about, even if it’s not really the case. D’OY.
Why would you want to know where I play at, and what does that have to do with this thread?
It doesn’t have much to do with the thread but moreso the topic on which we were talking about. If you’d like, we can do this via PM.
You’re either trolling, or stupid when actually getting into a conversation/argument. There is nothing more to be said. In fact, I don’t even care about this topic anymore.
If you want to play on 2DF sometime, I’m Hulk Hogan.
How is asking for simple information trolling/being stupid?
I don’t play on 2DF, or online really, for that matter.
I have reached his tech level … at 2003 Best of Saitama Conference.
'WOW: this thread sure picked up steam, or ppl are just bored and looking for some online 3s talk (I KNOW I am…)! I feel SILLY now cos I started w/ Alex originally and didn’t think of mentioning he was good for me when I was starting.
The main issue about this thread is whom’s good to pick at which skill level, for sure. As I continue to play, and (HOPEFULLY) get progressively better all the time, I have found some characters now easier to use, and some harder, as opposed to when I was totally new to competition. Some characters have better options and tend to be higher-tiered, and they thus seem easier to win with, and these days, it seems that overall strats and mind games determine my chances of winning over technical skill (execution skill), because I feel that my overall execution has gotten to a decent level for my current needs. Characters who rely mostly on good execution have consequently gotten easier for me to use (such as Chun), whereas characters who have few options in terms of factors such as combos (such as 12) seem harder to use.
It’s interesting that ppl say Yang is good for starting the game. I started using him a bit in 2I but not competitively (I didn’t have comp back then, really, or at least didn’t seek it, outside of ucla). I’m guessing that players here wouldn’t say he’s 1 of the easier characters to master, however. My Yang is CRAP although I think I’m improving ever-so-slightly with him. I’d say the same for Akuma usually, cos he has SO many tools to use, I have trouble incorporating them together into a solid, cohesive play style.
Makoto’s the biggest gamble character w/ her command grab. I think that’s her most appealing, unique quality. She can beat ANYBODY but almost lose to anybody–I think she’s 1 of the best characters for fighting Chun, Yun, Ken, etc. I could get some good wins, but I attribute that to her own abilities/options, and not my own skills. Ppl love to point out, however, how you can guess right once or twice and win the match with her lol, which I understand.
Dudley’s combos are mostly just knowledge-based (character-specific), and most are relatively easy, whereas the harder ones aren’t worth doing as they barely make a dif in competitive gameplay. I find zoning hard to do w/ him though, so I can’t say if he’s really that easy to use.
These days I’m STILL maining Necro, and I think I’m finally figuring out his most effective strats. He’s also overall my best chance for winning as of late. He’s WEIRD, but I can’t say he’s necessarily hard to use-- just different and kinda a baiter/counter character, imHo.
Then again, I’m a weirdo too, so conventional characters like Ken and Chun were tough for me until recently, and/or I don’t have the drive to use them–just beat them
Some characters are LAST on my list to try seriously cos they’re so technical. Urien pretty much requires charge-partitioning, and I haven’t really learned that yet. Remy doesn’t have set-ups as good as Urien’s for his own partitions, and he has several disadvantages as compared to most of the roster overall. I just can’t get the feel of Urien or Ibuki, overall, and w/ Yun, I’d feel like it’s a waste of time to learn him cos if I’m not beating everyone w/ him, what’s my excuse–not enough practice? Yun and Urien also feel too gimmicky (sp) for me, but that’s my own personal pref, as opposed to a reason to pick or not pick them.
For me, everyone’s somewhat playable at this point outside of Urien, Yun, 12, SEAN, and Ibuki
I was talking in general.
Dont talk about a character you clearly dont know shit about
dive kicking all day gets you killed.
You need to be just as exact with yun as you have to with dudley.
NICE! That is how I am too. :clown:
Keep up the good work with Necro, he will take awhile to really learn overall, and try messing around with all three of his supers as they all can be made useful.
So you put Dudley in the easy list but describe his combos as taking a year of practice for some people to get off consistently? His combos aren’t what makes him hard. Those are actually pretty easy since they are mostly juggles leaving the character hovering about for a second to input the next part of the combo.
It’s everything else about him that is difficult like actually putting yourself into position to initiate the combos, hit confirm and dealing with his bad match ups. Knowing which juggles work on which characters and what not. I would say he’s medium difficulty. I fed the troll.
