Best/Least technical character for 3rd strike noob

Yeah, man, those top Alex players who DDT are fucking NUBS! No wonder the DDT works, it’s because idiots like you underestimate it.

lololol

Wow, congrats Duralath, you found out about a technique in 2003 that was found in 1999.

Lol, I hope you guys don’t get into a DDT, the irony would be delicious.

The point is that its a gimmick, and the guy who originally brought it up was trying to pass it off as some kind of fundamental. DDT works about as often as jump in uppercut works, and I’ll gladly admit, I jump in uppercut people, but its hardly fundamental, and serves more as tactic to frustrate the opponent rather than it being the best option to beat what it beats.

You happy Rom?

Hahaha I was only joking with you about coming in this thread, but I always enjoy reading your posts. :hitit:

i love you too :lovin:

Judging from the replies, I might just overuse the DDT, lol. Alex is not really my main and I know it’s not a good move (Hey, Power Bomb sucks too, I only use it as a punish and on reaction after parrying a slow move), but I definitely use the DDT more often than “once every ten matches”, as another poster said you should. I’m very aware the competition I can get for 3S isn’t optimal (Sucks living in a country that has a perpetual hard-on for KOF and will barely play anything else), but with this talk about people jabbing out of DDT mixups everytime…Damn, maybe I live in a 3S scrub hotspot - I land DDTs off cr.lks somewhat often here.

Well, it has lower body invincibility, just like a UOH. I don’t use it like I would use a UOH, though.

down up+hp then foot stomp
j.down hp into roll > foot stomp
c.lk into DDT

These are called mix ups, not gimmicks. A jump in SRK is not a gimmick, you do that when you tend to fight someone who likes to grab, and it works. A c.lk DDT works in situations when you have the opponent trying to grab you right after the c.lk, or when they are walking back. There are more situations than this however.

Well, I don’t know how you define gimmick, so we can battle over semantics all day, but to me, both jump in uppercut and c.lk > headbutt are poor choices to beat the options they beat, and thats gimmicky to me. Everything in 3s in a mixup, including gimmicks.

Btw, why would you blanka roll when it can be stopped by a jab? Psycho crusher, Honda’s heabutt, etc…

that is a better option but ddt is fucking bomb. it’s fun to do. obviously if your in a tournament and you’re using alex than you should go with the safest option but if you’re playing friends or online than fuck it, ddt to your heart’s content.

why are you guys responding to a Literal Moron (Joe The Condor)

I know, the truth can be too much for people.

I get hit by the DDT sometimes…ggggrrrr…

The reason why we end up not bothering with DDT is because really, on reaction, you can just duck DDT or jab Alex out of it (Alex has to use s.strong). The start-up on it is -that- bad.

Oh, and no, it doesn’t hit crouching Hugo. At least, I’ve done it to crouching Hugo and I’ve never seen it hit.

Why DDT when you can just powerbomb?!

ddt has more range. that’s the only thing i can think of.

The only reason you’d powerbomb over DDT is if they mash throw or option-select throw, honestly. But if you’re reading that, then you have better options. Also, if I’m thinking this through right (on 3 hours of sleep), regular throw usually beats out Power Bomb (unless Power Bomb is spaced at max, I’d assume).

Honestly, if you want DDT answers, ask Sanchez.

why is this even a discussion
I saw KSK land a DDT against Ricky Ortiz’s Chun
whoopdi fuckin do

the move itself sucks, and it doesnt matter how much people try to defend it
the move its bad, and it brings unnecesary risks, pros use it when is everything or nothing (low health), but I can assure you that any pro would tell you that its bad and you shouldnt use it.

This stupid Joe The Bitch just suck’s on pros dicks instead of learning why they use what they use.

Irony? The reason you think the DDT sucks is because pro’s think it sucks.

Who the hell is this retard? He’s too busy mashing LP, and LK to even realize there is more to 3s.

This thread got totally derailed, and probably went over a subject that has already been analyzed in-depth, via the Alex thread.

Why dont we have some fries? bu-behb check me out, I’m obviously made of fish… , and some dried fish.

I’m debating where I should put Q.

Not as easy to use bunch.

Just because I said easy doesn’t necessarily mean they are easy to use, you have to learn their kara throws, and shit to be really good with them. You say you are having difficulty with Makoto, is it because of her walking speed that throws you off? You should do more jumping, and dashing if that’s the case. Just practice her dash in command throw many times, and you’ll get the hang of it. It takes players years to even get good with their main if even that…
