I actually really like this cheap Logitech Precision pad I got at GameStop. The pad is really loose and at first it bugged me, but I’ve gotten used to it and I kinda like it now.
This is also gonna sound weird, but I kinda like the D-pad on my PSP. I modded it by putting a shim of plastic underneath it and it works pretty well. I’ve got ST, MvC, and Alpha 3 Max on there and they work pretty well with that pad.
Finally, someone who understands 
It’s a very unusual feeling to the d-pad, with the looseness. And I think it works great.
Yeah, everyone I tell that to looks at me like I’m nuts! I dont’ like PS d-pads though. Can’t stand 'em. They just feel too clunky.
I’ve had 4/5 PS2 saturn pads to date and I use them for everything with converters.
I think the price of the SF4 fightpads might not only have to do with their quality, but also the license. I was actually pleased to hear they were more expensive than, say, those Nubytech pads. Generally, you do get what you pay for.
