I see. But, how building too much meter can be a bad thing? Also, as far as I’m aware of, Filia has the biggest quantity of normals that are safe on block. (I mean, the entire cast’s majority of normal moves and command normals are -3 on block at best.) I never tried Double to confirm her vampirism on the meter, but Valentine sure relies heavily on combos to get meter and a high damage output.
It’s not a bad thing (and as such Painwheel works fine solo), but I think she’s kind of… wasted. Her Meterbuilding is so fast that I believe she works better with someone who can really use it. Maybe this is going to change once people figure out her lvl3.
Quantity doesn’t really matter. Quality does. Filia doesn’t have any good low (cr.LK having a tiny hitbox, cr.MK being -10 on block) and can’t cancel the lows she has into anything safe in the first place (cr.LK>s.MP works but you can only combo off that if you’re REALLY close; cr.MK into HP/HK/Hairball makes it even more unsafe; Ringlet is no blockstring); plus no good mediums (s.MP see above, s.MK tiny hitbox and extremely short hitstun) so her offense pretty exclusively starts off IADs, which you can get hit out of quite easily.
Compare to Valentine who has a far reaching cr.LK that chains into itself to become safe on block, a -5 cr.MK (which is pretty safe given the startup of most moves) with good hitbox, and good standing mediums (s.MP chaining into itself to become 0 on block, s.MK reaching really far while being safe) on top;
or Fortune with a 0 on block cr.LK which outranges most cr.MKs, far reaching mediums and in general the ability to cancel anything and everything into safe Rekka pressure.
