"BEST BIPSON!" - Dictator Match-Ups

go training mode and record that setup, then try to block it, it’s not possible.

Here is a practice mode vid of the setup I recorded a while ago after Gangryong told me about it, showing that it’s a real unblockable:

Timing is pretty tight though I think, also varies depending on the opponent’s character.

Forgot to mention: there seems to be something random about this setup though (not the unblockable property, this always works when done properly). If I set dummy to record-play I can sometimes crouch under the j.HK to make it whiff, sometimes I get hit (same recording, so inputs should always be the same). This can be countered by j.MK though if you expect the opponent to crouch. If I use OS s.MK/HK against characters who can use forward dash to get out of it (like Ken) the s.MK/HK sometimes hits, sometimes whiffs. Really weird, don’t know if there is some kind of “perfect” timing where both those problems don’t occur. Very good setup though.

I know this set up but in your video, the first and second set up don’t use same timing so one of them is not “umblocable”…

Very good man. I’ll take a bit of time to learn this at a later point.

edit: So I tested that set-up in the video above. I don’t see how it’s unblockable as I could block. I assume I got the timing wrong.

Nevertheless that set-up above is better than the standard ‘fake’ safe jump vs 3 frame DP’s as I found it beats the delayed dragon punches of ryu and ken as well as the reversals (Besides Kens delayed mp dp). Good find I think.

you’re right sorry, i missed the unblockable @ 1:02:19. but i only used that video to show how to do it since i can’t record it from home

The timing is pretty strict, it took me a while to get it right too (can’t do it very consistently yet either). I think if you land behind the opponent when recording the dummy you need to delay the jump a little bit longer, if you can block the j.HK non-crossup you need to delay the jump a little bit less.

I should have recorded the dummy-record when I made the vid to make things clearer.

I’m confident that 99% of tournament players will stand up to block a high for this. But this is good to know. Thank you.

Unblockables are generally frame tight unless you have a canned setup for it.

So my life was shattered when I tried to AA a jumping Seth with EX-HS, turns out he can just j.strong that shit for free. Anything interesting Anti-Seth stuff Bison has or anything general you people might have discovered in this match?

The M U part for Seth seems severely out dated by the way.

Any move with a high hit box will generally beat EX headstomp cleanly. Sagat j.hp, Ryu j.mp, Sakura j.mp, etc.

I learned that if you try to jump back attack to get out of Gouken’s demon flip pressure, he can guess parry and land to punish it.

I am gonna call the Deejay matchup dead even, Bison has to treat knee shot like a dive kick since he has no way to stop it. The whole matchup depends on if you can corner him and keep him there.

With Vega’s wall dive, is there a way to read grab vs. slash? Or is it a total guess?

Total guess if he doesn’t do an early slash.

Bison is the worst character in the game and the only people who lose to him are scrubs, it is impossible to win any match up with him. Truth has been said.

No damage no good normals no AA no ultra no good special moves no kara throw no mix up no air priority not even good gimmicks.

I think you can beat Vega’s walldive shenanigans with Jump back roundhouse or just teleport away

You are kidding, in my personal experience, KEN is 2nd best Shoto in the game, best shoto might be either Akuma/Sakura/Sagat ( I feel Akuma because keep away game was too good, sakura for combo and reset, Sagat for damage and anti air.)

Ryu, in other hand:
1)if trade, srk is not that gdlk, is actually losing if you force jump in and he mash srk, so it will be more like he have to take a guess,
this case happen less in Ken, because his SRK are far more range and much painful than ryu.

2)mix up wise, ryu mix up are kind of boring, any combo into sweep, jump in, either you see surprise reading SRK FADC or throw, or again a sweep or a fireball.
is not as deep as Ken close range mix up, and not as dangerous…Ken can almost stick on you, and bait out your move so fast that is almost like instant kill.
your " GET THE FK AWAY FROM ME MOVE" is not working well against ken (EX psycho)and his counter/kara throw set play are very effective vs bison.

I think character in whole game have best normal is Gen, he got as much normal as 2 character, sadly, his wake up game are piece of crap, and his attack option
is either pure jump in gimmick (which is deadly against bison but NOT GOOD vs shoto srk) or some late attack bait for throw or other stuff.

Bison just average, you must only play bison when you fully understand the match up, which, is almost impossible to do…
if you prepare, at least you can TRADE with anti air and keep your pressure spacing, EX Scissor cancel +3 is a cool sht that I do now and then throw away 3 bar
but 1 set hit counter can as well as finish the game…in corner.

Bison= Anti air turtle character, EVERY GAME IS A GRIND, WE SHADOWLOO GRIND FOR THE WIN!

Ken’s normals are too good. Viper is too safe on everything and Bison in general is mediocre.

Bison needs buffs imo

shungoku neurosis was making bison look like a boss yesterday. how much more tourney viable should he be?
