"BEST BIPSON!" - Dictator Match-Ups

You think wrong. That’s not auto-correct. You can hold back charge even if the opponent crosses you up if you switch sides right when he gets on your “other side.” What in the engine would stop this from occurring? I mean just think about it; let’s refer to back charge as “defensive charge” since the attacker is on the other side. If you switch from holding left to holding right at the same moment that he crosses you up, you’ve held your defensive charge for the required number of frames correct? It doesn’t say “oh he didn’t hold the left side for 55 frames, therefore he can’t do his move.” It says “oh he held defensive charge for 55 frames, special comes out!”

^ so you’re saying you can hold charge in one direction, then move the stick to the other direction in a given amount of time and that original charge will transfer over? in that situation wouldn’t you be able to do another crossup PC after landing one by switching from one side to the other as soon as you crossup your opponent initially? if so this is a mighty fine discovery because we might be able to crossup PC loop. confirm if this is what you’re trying to say, because if so, im going to go start training to get this down.

and as for the CPU holding charge, try playing CPU bison in arcade mode or in versus. He often does jump in + scissor kick, like in jump in roundhouse, scissor kick. i think it’s possible to do, but probably not humanly possible. you have to go from up forward to back faster than is probably physically possible, but if you programmed that kind of thing in and you went from forward up to downback instantly without any time in between, it’s probably possible just like the sonic hurricane stuff.

Pulling that off reliably would require you to know the whereabouts of each character’s center of mass (yellow dot on hitbox data) as well as your own (i.e. Bison’s) to make the switch from back to forward without losing your charge~ I’ve given up on that idea a long time ago :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, it’s possible, but like I said- not worth the effort.

To play theory fighter, if Abel whiffs TT to build meter, that should be punishable by U2 on reaction, if you have it.

The Abels I play don’t usually sit at full screen and build meter, so I don’t know for sure.

Yeah I played against IFC Yipes’ Abel last week… he just gets in your face and you cant do anything. I shouldve saved some replays but Abels rushdown is too good for them to sit back and grab the air.

I need everything you got on Ibuki, the matchup section here was garbage since it was just what Ibuki can do, not what tools I have against her. Thanks guys.

v IBUKI

hmmm agaisnt Ibuki, you can punish her naked neck breakers with c.lk>sk. PP is your ideal ultra for this matchup because she can’t throw air kunai after you have it. If she does her EX Kasumi Gake and hits the third hit of the kick low its not a true block string and and if you have meter be ready to EX PC/SK her ass. If you find yourself in her vortex don’t worry just block the Kunai first and then worry about the other way. If she resets you in her vortex make sure you block high when she is coming back in on you. Watchout for EX Kazegirl followup kunai on her wake up, it gets me alot. But it has 5 frames of startup so you can safe jump her if you get an untechable knockdown. I love s.hk in this matchup cause she is always trying to jumpout of pressure, so I like to followup my safe sk with s.hk alot in this matchup because of that. Her super doesn’t seem to be punishable if you block it and if it is, well its way to hard and will probably get you hurt more than her trying to punish it. Unless she whiffs it totally, but even then she can controll her decent so be ready for her to land farther away than you thought she could. If you have the life lead don’t be afraid to sit back a little, Ibuki has a really hard time getting in in general, so make her pay as much as possible for trying to get her life lead back. If she has the life lead and is trying to zone you with air kunai, EX PC will get stuffed so I would recommend either jumping over them or focus abosorbing them to get in closer. Thats about all I got off the top of my head. I’ll post more if I think of anything.

I would add honda to that list imo.

I’m having lots of problem facing the mixup after a blocked chicken wing. Fei can go for throw, flame kick, etc… I tried tech throw, but got flame kicked; tried blocking, then got thrown.

Anyone got a good way to deal with the mixup after blocking chicken wing?

Good shit! Thanks

Late crouch-tech beats a follow-up normal or upflame, but chicken wing #2 can be problematic because it crosses up.

Teleport back beats everything except chicken wing #2.

Jump back beats chicken wing #2 (jump back -> j.fierce -> full combo) but loses to quick normals and upflame.

Those are some options, but ultimately it comes down to you making the necessary predictions!

naked neckbreaker can be punished with ANYTHING. Full screen ex neckbreaker will stop right in front of you, beware of command grab, throws, cLK, ultra, etc
Beware of lk spin kicks, she can loop from them. Good info on the blockstring…i mentioned that awhile back, and it’s always useful bait info (MAKE HER WANNA LOW KICK YOU)
hien (her double bicycle kick) can be punished even if it hits you. Beware of kunais while she bounces back though (they own PC’s).
pretty sure you can focus dash her vortex with bison. either way, just block whichever way SHE is, ignore the kunai.
always beware of followup kunais after ex upkick (Kazegiri)
her super rapes, beware (it combos after hien and sFK launcher as well)
She is a sucker for zoning, unfortunately. But when she gets in, try to recognize her target combo’s. her lp mp fp can be a little confusing, because the mp is 2 hits (wierd uppercut) but can be canceled into fp or special moves after the first hit.
if she has no meter, stay on her ass on wakeup. Clk, cMK, SK loops, whatever, fuck her over.
Don’t over turtle, beware of her f+mk overhead.

lol Soviet I got alot of my info on that matchup from reading some of your posts a while back, also I like your stuff better than mine I hope ParryPerson comes back and reads that too! But as far as blocking goes when you start getting vortexed, I swear it feels like I block the Kunai first then switch the other way as quick as possible. But you say that you just block her and not to worry about the Kunai? Do they both work because of auto blocking? Kinda like if Sim teleports in right as his fireball hits you basically can just block the fireball and you will stay in block stun as long as he doesn’t drop a link. If I’m wrong on all this please correct!!! and I will remove or edit this post so wrong info isn’t posted.

yeah in the Ibuki threads they’ve stated you just block away from whatever direction she is. it gets confusing technically, if ur ibuki, because if ur timing isnt perfect, you’re just throwing a meaty kunai, and ur dead meat lol. If you get the crossup, vortex shenanigans commence.

if she jumps and throws a kunai, you block away from her. and follow her with your eye. the moment she crosses over, you block the other way. Kunai will get blocked on it’s own. Like I said earlier, just focus dash forward. So much simpler lol.

you can’t fry that chicken with Ex Pc?

Oh fuck, yea you can… but I’m fairly sure I’ve had that shit lose to upflame (EX?). Also, Fei can punish that shit on block. Definitely an option, regardless.

If ibuki has no meter after the ex upkick its a free lvl 2 FA into whatever even if she dosent throw a kunia (but ex kunias will hit bison’s FA). Bison can also wait for the kunia followup (even ex) and ultra#2 right before it hits him and it’ll catch her on the way down. If u wanna be fancy, after blocking the ex upkick dash under jump forwad mp delay the 2nd punch then ultra#2. this all depends when ibuki throws the kunia’s if at all

yeah, like i’ve mentioned dozens of times, Ibuki’s mindgames and spacing remind me a lot of Bison, hence why I picked her up. If anybody needs help with her, just message me on Live and i’ll show you a few things or spar or whatever

I gotta say, my Ibuki is slowly getting better than my bison lol. I went from like 1 main and a few alt’s I fucked around with in Vanilla, to 2 mains, several secondary’s, and a bunch of random alts for fun (DRUNKEN BLANKA!!!) in Super. I am loving it.

looks at my sig Yeah I hop around a lot myself.
